Lambeau Field wants big ten title game

You could get the same thing in Indy or Chicago. The biggest difference between the three is hotel rooms.

Weather should not be an issue in the Big Ten Championship game. This ain't the SEC, brother.

It's not going to snow inside at Indy...and while I agree that weather "should not" be an issue...it will be an issue.

It has to be inside, I see a rotation between Detroit, Indy, Minneapolis...

Why? I can understand the arguments against having the game at Lambeau, but not because it will be cold. The only argument against having the game in Green Bay that makes any sense is the lack of hotels in and around Green Bay.

Honestly, how cold can it be during the first week of December?

It's not just the "cold"...it could be miserable conditions, sleet, freezing rain, fat Wisconsin chicks slammin' shots of Hidden Valley Ranch, snow...wind...It's like the Super Bowl...they'll want it played in ideal conditions.

thats just stupid...every b10 team is used to playing in outdoors so y would it matter

They'll want the pageantry and pomp and perfect conditions...not to mention, they won't want anyone saying "What a sloppy, crappy game...typical slow plodding Big10 football"...It will be for totally cosmetic reasons.

+1

Yes, we play outdoors. So does the SEC. Yet the SEC plays their champ game in the Georgia Dome.

Also, yes, we play outdoors, but...the big difference is....this will be the inagural Big-10 championship game. All eyes will be on us. The suits will want the game to be clean, and, they'll want the attention to be on the teams playing and the league, NOT the weather. Which I agree with 100%.

This is a no-brainer. It won't be played outdoors.

I'm surprised Heinz Field isn't trying to scoop this up as well.

It would also be nice to give cities other than Chicago and Indy a chance at the game, since these cities host the B-ball tournament.

Some clueless guy on Hawkeyeinsider is saying a stadium cannot sell beer at a championship game. I challenged him to produce a link which he has yet to provide.

Dude is completely wrong. The sell beer at all the championship and all the bowl games. What an ******** statement.
Unfortunately there is virtually no question that this game will be played indoors. And that leaves Indy, Detroit, and maybe the Dump Dome. Indy and Detroit have 2 of the nicest most modern indoor stadiums in the U.S. It will be a good show/game. I would agree with most posters that an outdoor game would cool, but it isn't going to happen especially in the first couple years.
Lambeau could be cool, but if Wisconsin was in the title game and the game was at Lambeau it would be a god awful sight.

My experience is that the stadium dictates liquor policy, not the teams playing in it.

Although I would LOVE to see an Iowa big ten title game at Lambeau field (Really what fan that loves football would not be totally geeked by this??) It will be in Indianapolis. Which is fine...it's one of the best stadiums in the nation.
