Lakers/Celtics

I will preface this by saying I am a huge Celtics fan, but how in the world can anybody say the refs are favoring the Celtics this series?

Kobe has been in foul trouble in Game 2 and that is it. He has gotten away with a lot and not been called for anything since then. There has been more illegal screens called on Boston this series than I have ever seen in a a playoff series and the officiating has been inconsistent at best.

I just hope that Boston wins 1 of the next 2 and Kobe can still keep the label as Kobe "never been able to beat Boston" Bryant. If the Celtics win this series they will move to 10-2 against the Lakers in the Finals. There should be no debate about the greatest NBA franchise.

I just cant wait to hear Phil Jackson's postgame comments and hear what he says to try and influence the officials for game 6.

I also hope they replay the audio during the timeout when Jackson said, "the Celtics lose in the 4th quarter, they are showing us that now". I really liked Phil when he was coaching the Bulls, now he is just a pompous *******. I hope the Celtics put it on them in L.A.

I really hope you are joking. The refs GAVE Boston Game 2 in LA. Hell, they even reviewed the out of bounds play during that game and STILL gave the ball to Boston. The Lakers should have been up 3-0 heading into Game 4. And tonight, the ball clearly did not hit the rim, and the Lakers should have had possession with a chance to cut into the lead more. I am not saying they would have won, but it certainly took away any chances they may have had. Then Artest bricked two straight free throws...

I agree with bus that I HATE Boston. The whole town. Patriots, red sox, celtics. Cannot stand any of them. Oh, and lastly, the whole "Kobe can't beat Boston Bryant" thing is not all on him. He has to get some help. Gasol was a ***** tonight.

Oh, and don't complain about Phil trashing the refs. Glenn Rivers was the biggest crybaby EVER after Game 3. He refused to give the Lakers ANY credit at all for beating them. He even complained about it the whole next day. I watched his whole post-game presser, and he said something about the refs after every question. I used to like Rivers, but he's a punk now.

That is laughable, the refs have been in the Lakers pockets 4 out of 5 games so far and i could care less about either team...

I agree. This is laughable. I live in LA and this is the typical Laker fan reaction. No way the Celtics are better than the Lakers, the refs have been helping them. I am neutral and I agree up until last night the refs have been awful, but I would say it was more in favor of the Lakers than the Celtics.

Ray Allen had a little bit to do with the game 2 win. I wouldnt say the refs were to blame completely in that one. Allen has been pretty non-existent since then but he pretty much single handedly won a Finals game on the road for his team.

The out of bounds call that got reviewed and was not reversed was close. I compare it to football replay where they stuck with the call made on the field/court because there was no 100% conclusive video evidence to overturn it. It looked like it went off both players hands at the same time.

There has been more phantom fouls called on Rasheed Wallace this series than there has been close calls that went against the Lakers. Whether it be "illegal screens" or Pau Gasol tripping over his own two feet, Rasheed has gotten no breaks. Maybe that comes with his reputation.

And Jackson has been doing this thing with the refs for years. He drops sly hints to the media and the refs take notice. Just like in 2008 when he purposely mispronounced Leon Powe's name in the postgame press conference after Powe went off in game 2. He felt that Powe wasnt established enough to be the beneficiary of so many calls in a Finals game.

It will not shock me at all to see another horribly officiated game on Tuesday night. I am counting on the Lakers to shoot twice as many free throws as the Celtics and hoping they can still close it out in game 6 while they have the momentum. While a game 7 would be unbelievable in this series, I do not like the Celtics chances if it gets that far.

If your first reaction to a game is about the refs, you are a crybaby. Simple as that. The refs didn't cost LA that game, Bryant having to play 1 on 5 all night cost that game.

Hey Pau Gasol, when a guy named Big Baby is tougher than you, you have a problem. If he doesn't show up, there is a serious chance that Kobe Bryant murders him. That guy looks ******.
