Big match up tonight.

Through one and half quarters....
Labas is 5/6 for 28 with one INT

Roberson who came in in the 2021 PSU game when Clifford got knocked out is 5/11...I think with a pick 6.

Labas finished with a respectable 18/24.for 247 yds. 2 TD / 2 INT

Every time I look at the box score for Labas' stats, he seems to be good for at least 1 interception and a lot of times 2 or more. Could have been an issue as to why he never climbed the depth chart here.

The only time he stalled out on the depth chart at Iowa was 2023.

He never took a snap that season. Deacon Hill had 8 interceptions and struggled with ball security all season. Hill also couldn't move nor was he an accurate passer.

Labas is now a two year starting QB in the MAC, while Deacon Hill is third string on Utah Tech.

I will never, ever understand 2023.

Roberson has been playing 6 years, has 17 total starts for 5 different schools, lol. The dude sounds like a minor league baseball player.

I understand it perfectly.

BF had been the OC since 2017, and during this tail end portion the QBs in place were recruited once it had been established that Iowa was by far the worst offensive team in P5 football. Why the hell would a good QB have come here during that period???

I agree he should have seen the field in 2023. But we both know that the staff was (and still is) very risk averse and he must have been seen as having more downside than Hill. I don't agree with that because at the very least Labas could have provided more mobility.
