Kyle Meyer Arrested for Public Intox

Didn't he get the memo that "Responsibility Matters"?

Does at least get leniency points for using his BudLight/TigerHawk cup?

Cut him some slack. Let him be a college student. Just keep him out of The Den.

How is it legal to issue a public intox citation in Hillcrest dorm which is a private property (UofI)? Did the UofI public safety issue it? Wondering the the police followed him to the dorm. I'm not sure the Iowa City police can enter to issue the ticket.

He got the public intox in the dorm restroom?... Interesting.

Fortunately they didn't give the guy at the urinal a citation for public urination!

I know I'm going to be the a-hole of the group but...

When did it get so bad with the Iowa players that everyone now thinks that getting picked up for underage drinking just isn't that big of a deal?

we all remember what it's like to be an underage drinker.

Because it isn't. If you think that less than 75% of all college freshmen don't get sloshed in their first three months on campus, you're crazy. It's not like he robbed someone. He got drunk and passed out on a bathroom floor. Only repressed people and hypocrites find that scandalous.

Nicely put, Wundergrape.....

One does have to wonder why he wasn't helped to his room. If it is true he was very close to his room, it would really take a nasty jerk of an officer to arrest him.....

:)

I know! I hate it when cops do their job. What a bunch of jerks.

Their job is to protect and serve. Who are they protecting and serving when a freshman is passed out in the dorm bathroom, the janitor from cleaning up the puke. Please this is why I hate cops who think that just because they have a badge makes them entitled to be an a**whole.

They're protecting the GD kid passed out in the bathroom! They're serving all of the people who might come across the 7" 245lbs kid who is out of control drunk and probably capable of anything. They're serving that freaking janitor, who despite your flippant disregard of, is not that kid's mom and should not have to clean up after him when he's too stupid and selfish to consider his actions.

You think it is is Kyle's best interest that he be able to drink himself into a coma without consequence? Who thinks that it is in the best interests of the community to allow people too drunk to function to roam around free? It's not like drunks ever start fights, or damage property.

Stop making excuses for this kid and his stupid decisions.

How I wish this were true everywhere. How is throwing this young man in jail doing society any protection? Police are the front line of the government going out of bounds.
