KXNO's 4PM host change...

Can it be true that Chris Williams is now part of the 4pm KXNO show?

Thanks for the warning dude, I will continue to avoid that station like the flu.

I listened for a few minutes. It was exactly what I thought it would be. Chrissy doing most of the talking, very Cyclone heavy, and Ross chiming in once in awhile. Felt awkward. In their defense, it will take some time for them to develop chemistry and find a rhythm.

Thank heaven Marty and Miller are back together. Chris Williams is the embodiement of the typical Cyclone fan. Cannot stand to listen to him talk. Ross Peterson claims to be a Hawkeye fan...and maybe he still is to some extent, but all he does anymore is complain about the Hawks.

Marty Tirrell may be a tool, but he is fun to listen to.

As for the KXNO morning show...Heather Burnside is a perfect fit for that buffoon Travis Justice. Another show I won't listen to.

Glad I don't live in Iowa anymore.... Radio sure has gone downhill it sounds like since the early 2000s.

They don't have any kind of chemistry thus far, but this is a new pairing. Chris seemed almost irritated talking at length about Hawkeye related topics. You can tell he's going to bring everything back to the Big 12, but it's all he's followed in his career. Like the other poster said, Ross isn't nearly enough of a Hawk fan to help balance it out. He actually is more of Grandview homer and doesn't understand why more people don't follow Grandview sports...lol I'll let it play out for a while longer and see how it goes, but needless to say, sports radio in this area keeps taking hits and declining.

It's like they had a fight with the ugly shovel, and they all lost.

I listened to the morning show for about 5 minutes. It was worse than anything I have ever heard on sports radio in Des Moines. That is saying a lot with people like Cotlar and Tim Fischer, and others that have come before these clowns. I do enjoy Marty and Miller. I wish they overlap with Murph and Andy though.

I haven't had the stomach to attempt listening to Chris Williams on this show. I know the balance should be even, since his counter part is an Iowa fan, but still not biting.

Just wondering if anyone has tuned in, and if it's worth the potential nausea...

I listened to it for 20 minutes or so in the car and I didn't think Williams was too over the top Cyclone. He was pretty fair towards and even complimentary of the Hawks. Least you know where he stands before going in.

Williams-Peterson are fine and they'll get better. Stop interrupting each other would be a good first step. Peterson needs to talk more. But he didn't talk much with Justice in the AM. That morning show was bad. I stopped listening after a month. After listening to Heather for the past few weeks....yikes....and then justice saying for 20 mins how he spent weeks trying to score with her 25 years ago. Yikes x2. That morning show has got to be horrible. Not even going to try it.

I'm never up early enough to catch the whole morning show. I'd always catch the tail end. It was ok for the 20 min I heard in the mornings. More humor than sports which is fine. I did catch the first hour on a podcast someone here posted where they played the Dolph interview with Fran. Then I heard Travis go all Wilbon on Fran's character like he's some authority on morality. Claimed that what Fran did was similar to a kid getting bullied in school. That really ****** me off as I was already agitated with the situation going on with the local media. Then I still had it on KXNO when I got in my car this morning and Heather and Travis were praising Raygun for their awesome Pokeye shirts they made. Needless to say I'm done with KXNO in the mornings until Patrick comes on.

Marty and Miller for me.

I actually like Ross but listening now and they have Mark Hanrahan sitting in and he's worse than even Chris Williams.

I never was a big Marty guy back in the day. I did listen to them on the way home today mainly cause I can't even stand the sound of Chris Williams voice. Ross is ok. I don't know if it's because of all the other shows being so bad in comparison, but it was actually pretty refreshing sports radio. Two guys that are able to just talk sports. It felt like if they didn't even have a guest that they'd just keep a discussion going the whole show. I may have to change my stance on that show now.

I think Chris and Ross will round out to put together a great show....and Marty and Miller will have a great show, too....two very strong options in afternoon drive when it has really been lacking in PM drive since 'The Incident' nearly six years ago.

Each show is different..I find myself tuning back and forth on the drive home from the office via the smart phone.

As others have said, Chris and Ross just need some time to get their chemistry together.

As for Marty and Miller goes, i remembered really quickly why i didn't like Marty and had stopped listening to their show before. I'll download the podcast for Miller's interviewing skills, but i can't stand listening to Marty (he's the kind of person who gives sports radio hosts a bad name).

You guys need to give Chris a chance, he really is just a sports fan (even grew up a hawk fan). While he is a "cyclone homer", he's pretty fair on other teams too and will admit when he's wrong (which is always nice to hear). Anyways, just my two cents ;)

You can't really believe that about Chrissey can you? How do you think Clownnation would react if I went there and said Jon Miller was "pretty fair". Dude pumps sunshine up the arses of the cult 24/7 and bans any Hawk fans who have the nerve to post on his site. He lies worse than Brian Williams trying to claim ISU signed the states top recruit, and his cult eats it all up. He brags up his Busch Light like it is some kind of badge o honor. The worst part is he has a voice made for the internet. It sounds like a shrill combo of the worse Ex-wife in the world and the Preditor......dude has as much business on the radio as Honey Boobo does making a porn.

Miller follows whoever will lead him in the Sports Radio field. Case in Point: He would even follow Matt Perrault when he said things like "the 2009 Iowa FB defense will probably have 2 players that will make an NFL team" and when the Mayor was announced as the isu bb coach, Perrault snickered incessantly and pointed to the fact that freddy had never even coached a little league team, let alone a power conf bb team. So if you don't like Marty, how can you listen to Miller?
