Kudos to the current players and recruits....

for their patience over the past few weeks. We don't know everyone's intentions at this point, but I am hoping all the current players stay and all four recruits make it to campus. As tough as it was for me as a fan, it had to be very difficult for these kids who have much more of a vested interest than I do.

Everything seems positive. I am looking forward to the press conference tomorrow and the coming weeks.

It's never an easy situation and the way things went down in IC made it extremely difficult on some of them. Props to those who stay true throughout this process.

Personally, I really never worried about the recruits or current players going anywhere. This is secondary to Iowa being in the worst rutt in history. If they were initially willing to come with the b-ball program in the state it has been, I felt confident a new coach & play style wouldn't change their committment. Actually, it may have helped secure a couple of current players.

It was only going to go uphill for them. It isn't like it's Kentucky or NC going thru a coaching change & worrying about McDonald's AA or top recruits keeping their committment. Totally different situation.

If the stories of Lick's lack of communication are true, they'll be thrilled to have a leader who will give it to them straight, good or bad. They are kids looking for guidance. I'm hoping now that the handcuffs are off, we might be pleasantly surprised next year.
