KSU got it RIGHT!

From a current Iowa recruit.......saying that he has taken visitations to other Big 10 schools and that all the BIG coaches said they are really hoping Brian get's the head job at Iowa after daddy is done. Figure out what that means?!?

Is that one your other personality?

I can't believe some of you people don't see the disaster of hiring BF to be the head coach. This is the guy that tried to break down the door of the replay officials, during a game. At 35 years old! He's immature and entitled. Which isn't likely to change with age. Right now he has his dad to keep him under control. What's going to happen when dad's no longer on the sideline with him? All of the posters that laud "win, graduate, do it the right way" are suddenly going to swing 180 and look the other way on BF's behaviors? This is the guy that was stealing federal housing money designated for poor people, while playing football for his dad, the multi-millionaire.
Unbelievable.

I completely see the disaster. But there isn’t shit any of us can do to stop it. You better be ready to either throw your gear in the river or root for a perennial 5 win team. Those are your two choices.

Or just rake leaves and watch the DVR’d game if they win.

The KSU hire is pretty solid. Altho it probably happened because of Klieman's prior connection with the AD, his style of play will likely be successful in the B12. I see him putting together a team very similar to Campbell's teams at Iowa State: above average defense, high-level skill players on offense, and then he'll emphasize special teams. B12 teams have been completely caught off-guard by a coach who emphasizes defense, as Campbell has done at ISU, and Klieman will follow the same blueprint. He'll never get the talent in Manhattan that they'll have in Austin and Norman, but I would expect them in the long-term to consistently be in the hunt for 3rd-5th place in the B12 along with the Clones, WV, and Baylor. A little defense goes a long way in that league.

The fact that you still think Brian's housing issue was about saving money shows how little you pay attention. He was a college football player that didn't want to be separated from his teammates. Bad look, but not bad intentions.

"Break down the door"? Hyperbole much? Point to me one big time football coach that has never gotten on an official's ass. It's part of the job. Christ, Fran broke chairs on the basketball floor and people loved his fire. Not only that, but Fran, HAS gotten better with age as well.

Beyond that, what has he done to label him "whining and entitled"?

I'm not saying I'm looking forward to Brian as head coach, but come up with some better arguments.

I could get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull’s ass but...I’m still not takin your word for it.

Who was the recruit?

I understand this take. Nothing posted on a message board has any impact. But ask yourself this, why do coaches and athletic departments (not just Iowa's) put pressure on fan sites to boot people who don't tow the company line? I'll tell you why. Because a "few" ingrates can be tolerated while being ostracized. When that number grows to more than a "few, then the possibility of change becomes real. It's in their interest to have smart people like you say the word "impossible" as often as possible.

That is hard for me to believe.

Why? Big 10 coaches have always said things negative to sway recruits away from other coaches. When Hayden and Paterno got old, that was a tool the younger coaches used as a negative for recruits to go to Iowa or PSU when they were still coaching.

Do you really think that happens, though? I guess I don't see anybody at the Iowa athletics office reading through our posts and telling Rob to ban us, or tolerate less negative posting...

Asking a recruit to think about if the man he agreed to play for will be there through his playing years is a far cry from telling a recruit that you hope some coach takes over because you have deemed him incompetent.

College coaches are a competitive bunch and will definitely claw at each other, but it is extremely rare that they would make personal statements against each other. At the end of the day they are all doing the same job and have alot of respect for one another.

I think we can agree to disagree on that one. I have no doubt that for the most part some of them may respect them, but at the same time I'd be willing to bet that there's just as many coaches who despise other coaches or would say/do anything they felt necessary to get themselves in a better position to land a recruit.

You are allowed to have your opinion and yes we disagree. Negative recruiting is not the way that confident individuals build themselves up. Sure some coaches have and will do these things, but in my experience that would fall on the rare side.

The fact that you call it a "bad look" only makes your homerism and blind loyalty to The Ferentzs obvious. It was wrong. Flat out, any way you slice it. WRONG.
Was he pounding on the door?
I never called him "whining". Not sure where you are getting this quote from. I guess you are just making more shit up, to help you excuse bad behavior.
Who needs better arguments? I don't. But I'll add....WE CAN DO MUCH BETTER.

I agree with you that I don't think its a way that confident individuals build themselves up, but at the end of the day these programs/coaches are competing on and off the field whether against each other to win games or for recruits. They're competitors and just my opinion, but if there is a lack of respect on the field there's going to be a lack of respect on the recruiting path. I don't think they make negativity the focal point in their recruiting pitch, but I'd be willing to bet jabs at opposing coaches regardless of how subtle they are take place. I think it's the nature of the beast.

Yeah F college kids for wanting to hang out and live amongst their teammates. What an awful person.

My point is you think he's awful only because of the Ferentz at the end of his name, and it leads you to froth at the mouth over behavior that is commonplace in the coaching ranks.
