Considering that you sound on the verge of throwing Fran under the bus already, you fully deserve to be called out. And I've also not really seen you post on here that much. Pardon me for not taking you at your word that you "tend to be right about basketball". Cal had the big advantages in getting Kravish (med school, and they are in a better position as a program). I've got faith in Fran, and like it or not, you should too. Another quick hire/fire will bury us, and I don't think we'll get out of the hole.

Judging by your posts, I doubt there is much you are ever right about when it comes to basketball. Unfortunately, these boards are filled with posters like you. People masquerading as fans, but are just clueless morons who love to see Iowa basketball in controversy. I'm not sure why you guys exist. Maybe it's because you've only been around Iowa basketball while it's been in this state, so it's all you know. Or, maybe you go back to the Lute days and you think that should be the norm for Iowa basketball regardless of the hurdles that they are trying to clear. Perhaps it's because stars and rankings are the only way you know how to judge a team.

The thing I do know is that unfortunately we will have to listen to you pretend to know more than you do until Iowa basketball is back. But I take some comfort in knowing it won't be too long until that happens.

What is your evidence on me not knowing what I am talking about? I was spot on about Lick when everyone was still gung ho around here about him. I am not trying to cause controversy and I am certainly not just trying to be anti Fran because I think he can get it done here. I probably had to high of expectations of the staff because they did just about everything right when they got here. I was hoping to get away from being the whitest team in the nation again at the BCS level, but it reminds me way to much of what Lick did. I am just desperate to get some play makers in here who can bring some excitement back into the CHA. This tempo should be a blast to watch and I just want Fran to get the horses to make it happen. Just because someone doesn't see everything the new coach does as great does not make them any less a fan then those extremely positive fans.

Just a little fun fact for you: Basabe, Marble and Cartwright are not white, but that should not matter and in the end it doesn't matter as long as players can fit into what you are trying to do then it simply doesn't matter.

I will take May, Gatens and Payne any day. I also like everything I am hearing about McCabe.
I also will take players like: Lorenzen, Moe, Millard, Street, Bowen, Settles, Bartels, Kingsbury, Lookingbill and others not named.
Hey I don't think Butler will apologize for the experience they had with Gordon Hayward as their best player?

Look at the top teams in the country, they look very little like this Iowa team. I realize who Fran signed in the spring and that was encouraging but so far this new class is looking very similar to the Lick era. Now if he can get Fant away from WKU and keep Harris from the east coast that would be a huge step in the right direction. Not because of their race, but because of their skill set and offers.

Hayward's best offer was Purdue (the other two Butler and IUPUI), so that makes him a 1st-round pick with your logic, but he has the same rating as Aaron White coming out of high school.

The one thing though, is there are a lot of mid-major programs that are better than Iowa, but keep in mind it isn't like it is limited only to Iowa in "Power" conferences. I do wish the Selection committee would give the "Little Guys" many more chances, hopefully Butler opened it up for people. The good news for Iowa is they have a solid tradition, but have just hit a rough point in their history, when you aren't a "Perrenial" power as some, downturns happen more often than not.
