Kirk on the Side

great stuff Jon
I've never understood, is this just some time you get with KF "on the side"?

No...Hayden used to do a presser, where TV camera were, and certain types of questions get asked there that don't get asked after, from the print media (and now online). It's a second Q&A. I think Kirk does it because that's how its been done.

The real story will be written on the field this Saturday, but I for one like what I am hearing from the players and staff. The loss to Wisconsin hurts them more than we can imagine. We don't spend hours in the film room, or weight room, or endure hours of practice in the August heat and humidity...these kids and coaches put so much on the line and it didn't go their way last Saturday.

What I really find refreshing is that to a man, they are stepping up and taking responsibility upon themselves...no whining...no finger pointing...no second guessing their coaches...pretty classy group of young men, if you ask me.

Of course I was terribly upset that they lost the game...probably more than I am entitled to be...but for some reason this team has me convinced that they will dust themselves off, and write their chapter in Hawkeye history before it is all said and done.

Go Hawks!

This is a completely stand up interview. I appreciate his comment that he read some papers and thought they were fair. I also liked the comment about some guys being more veteran than others. Sounds like he is considering making some adjustments to deal with the greener players getting targeted.
