Kirk on Iowa's last drive

We had 1.4 yard per attempt rushing the ball. Now that's a new level of bad.
Just for the record, Sam Brownlee, our 6th string tailback playing with a true sophomore QB against Big Ten level competition and LSU, averaged 2.4 ypc. To call Greg Davis incompetent would be a compliment.

The three stooges: Kirk, Greg and Phil. Guest staring: Bryan ferentz.

You folks are hilarious....I've told you over and over that CJ is slow on his reads, is not that accurate, etc.....And we saw it today. He made 'about' 4 plays and the rest of the day he totally sucked in his 'reads', his progressions, and his accuracy. They STACKED THE BOX betting that CJ couldn't beat them (because they saw what I saw) and he was embarrassing. WE DIDN'T GO 12-0 LAST YEAR BECAUSE OF CJ.....GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS!!! We won those games because we won the turnover battle (we split the TO battle, but they scored points off ours), we won because we dominated on the ground (see NW, etc....), we won because we stopped the run (we aren't this year and it ain't because of Bower...) etc.... 'Your' Heisman QB is not that 'good', in fact Stanley looked better than him (which is hard for me to say, because I said he should RS) and the 'ball' (plays) didn't 'bounce' are way today........When you folks come to 'terms' with how 'average' CJ is, then you will get realistic about what Iowa can do.. I called out to the people I was watching the game with what NDSU was doing and what Iowa 'needed' to do, and they did a couple times (that worked), but CJ was horrible in executing some of it.........Even his pick 6, Kittle 'signals' that he's 'hot' because they're blitzing off the edge (watch the replay), but CJ just stands around and STARES down a receiver and 'hands' the ball to a defender..........I expect everyone to stack the box but play 2 high, because CJ can't beat them.....you guys MAY get it by the end of the year.........

I have enjoyed many of your posts in the past. With this one, however, you have lost a large portion of credibility. I will ignore your soon to be posted attack on my knowledge of the game. But be careful, since you do not know me at all. I do not do pissing contests.

I like how Ross Peterson summed it up on Soundoff... We didn't even give our best playmaker a chance to make a play... well at least not until it was 3rd and 11

If I were as flaccid and weak as you, I wouldn't do them either. You got served, bud. Sorry.

Not trying to start an argument, but I'm curious to hear what you think about Stanley's ability on his reads from what we've seen so far. I know it's a limited example.

You can believe what ever you'd like, but I've been consistent in telling you people about CJ and WHY we won 12 games last year. You fellers want to jerk off to CJ, so knock yourselves out, but how our year goes won't depend on him....he's an average B1G QB who got WAY to much credit for what happened last year....see how well your 'love affair' goes......CJ was the 3rd best QB on the field today and if you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you....

I can NOW see why the coaches like Stanley...very decisive and throws a VERY catchable ball. The first pass he hit, was the SAME play that Iowa ran on the very first play, but CJ over threw Kittle by 10 yds. AND HE COULD HAVE UNDER THREW IT, because he was WIDE open.... Some will say, "well, it was CJ's first pass, so he was a little pumped up..." Um, it was Stanley's first pass also, and he hit him in stride against better coverage..........As far as his pre-snap reads go, they aren't giving him the same 'leeway' that they are giving CJ, so we can't compare. They are pretty much giving him a play and telling him to execute it at this point, and he is.....

Yeah I blame the coaches people in the know on the call in show indicated that this team wasn't ready Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I'd say that's on KF's ARSE. Thanks Gary Barta for getting bent over like Pulp Fiction character. Really disappointed in the coaching effort and kids. When you have -9 rushing and get outgained by an embarrassing amount it' pathetic. IT was a total collapse of preparation and participation. Embarrassing.

LOLOLOL - Gimp Barta:p:p:p:p:p:mad:

I don't understand what his groupies find so fascinating about him.

You're blaming CJ for this game? LOL! They stacked the box because they know we won't adjust and throw out of running plays. That's game planning and that is on the coaches. They know we don't have WR's that they can't cover. They know 9 times out of 10 we'll put 5 OL and a TE and FB against 8, and even, 9 men inside the box and run it anyway.

What's funny is other than the Stanford game which was an all around whoopin, CJ hasn't lost a game where he's thrown a pass in the last 10 minutes or so of the game.

Was pretty disgusting to see KF come out that last possession and fall back to his ultra ultra conservative ways. Iowa hadn't been able to run the ball all day, but instead of play action or quick slants, Iowa dials up two consecutive stretch plays and a horribly blocked drop back pass that resulted in a sack.

This one is squarely on the coaches. 100%

F*ck him. Go back to the game vs Mizzou. O'Keefe calling the plays. Third down and short. Everyone, save for me, expecting a run. Mizzou stacks box. O'Keefe calls play action and almost scores. You have to run play action on first down. The D will sell out to run. Always. This team is so horribly coached it isn't funny.

Greg Davis made a few really good calls today, he really had an off script play on that fake block long pass play to Kittle and the first play for Stanley filling in for CJ was a great call as NDS highly expected run and they snuck a receiver behind the whole D for a big play.

But those were the very few plays that looked to be good calls, most of the offense was bland.

Yes, you have been consistent about how good CJ is. But, there are some folks, including NFL scouts who see him as better than your view. In no way do I think CJ was the only reason Iowa came back with a great season last year. You don't have to tell me anything....I simply do not agree that CJ is just an average QB. I trust you are not basing your view that Stanley is the better QB on two plays? And, yes, I like Stanley's upside a lot. Finally, Iowa will win their next 4 games and at 6-1, will be back in the conversation. And yes, I know the next 4 are vs lesserteams. How did CJ end up as a highly ranked QB in the BT last year and why the large amount of love from media guys? Just askin'

I can't speak for them. They like his 'live' arm? They think he's a leader? They may be right and I may be wrong...I can only tell you what I see and think. Didn't everyone determine that CJ was the better QB based on the 2nd half of the Pitt game? I don't think I said that Stanley is a better QB than CJ 'yet', he's still really inexperienced, but he was better than CJ 'today' in my opinion..........CJ was late on his reads, didn't make good pre-snap reads (in fact totally missed a couple 'hot' routes, like on his pick 6) and was inaccurate (even his long pass to Kittle was low and inside).... Media 'guys' are like kids with ADHD and just love 'shiny objects' and I've never had much respect for 'media' people. They love to hear themselves talk, but if they knew so much about what they were talking about, they wouldn't be announcing..."Those who can 'do', those who 'can't', announce, lol. Well, that's not how it goes, but that's what I think......
