Someone correct me but I think Iowa inched closer to top 25 with that loss than the week prior.
You are correct, sir!

I think we'll see MSU, UM and OSU, move the ball and score against PSU. We've got it in our mind that they are somehow awesome dominant on D. We'll discover that they are merely strong.
Brian was in over his head on Saturday. He'll get better. But he got schooled.
Ferentz called runs into an 8 or 9 man front for a large portion of the game.He didn't get "schooled". We started most of the first half inside our own 10 or 15, and we couldn't flip the field enough. You'll notice that after Jewell's INT, we immediately went quick-strike. KoK did that on occasion. GD would have started off with flat-pass to MVB, watching him go solo on a DB and a LB to "get space".
World of difference...

Herby: "....I don't think the HAWKEYE nation gets Iowa..." -- So true. We aren't flashy, but we play tough, especially at Kinnick.

Can't disagree with this. Can't take 2.25 quarters to make changes. Albeit, I think the field position and 2-3 early key drops really threw BF off...whuch needs to not happen much more...
Agree to disagree with ya. I was pretty impressed with their D outside of about maybe 3 plays is all. I think their offense is a top 5 one in the country. That's not just due to scheme they have studs too. We played em really tough coulda shoulda won but didn't. No shame in losing to them and saying they are a little better. Doesn't mean we didn't squander it either but I just look at it a little different.I don't think Pedo Supporters University was any better as a team, they just had better coaching that night as evidenced by BF's slow reaction time to what was happening on the field.
Let's all not lose sight of the fact that there will be a learning curve for BF since this is his first gig as OC. I've already seen enough evidence of his growth to be encouraged that we will eventually see offenses that will carry their share of the load and not put so much on the defense.
You Both haave valid points. You cant ignore the conservatism. It is insanely real. It slmost worked. What we dont know is what wojld happen if Iowa got a lead...how conservative would things have beenDid you even see the dropped passes in the first half? Or the average starting field position?

After the MSU game, I stand by my original statement.Did you even see the dropped passes in the first half? Or the average starting field position?
