Kirk Herbstreit has no credibility

The same way that I could say Gladbrook-Reinbeck was a better team before playing Akron-Westfield in a state championship game, despite G-R having two losses and A-W being undefeated. Iowa has done everything it possibly can with the schedule it was given, but the level of competition DOES matter.

Except that A-W had 2 losses earlier in the year, one of them was in which they got mud-stomped. Bad example, but we get your point...I think.

For some reason, I was thinking they were undefeated. Better example: 12-1 Dowling vs. 13-0 CR Washington in last year's 4A title game.

Sure the level of competition "matters". And if you're saying Iowa's level of competition is "inferior", well, take YOUR ESPN FPI and "stuff" it :)

Seriously, of the Top 10 teams, a full EIGHT of them are as deserving as any of the others. I would say Stanford is a head-scratcher, as is a two-loss Michigan "right now". But that also all but explains WHY we, to reiterate an obvious cliche, "Have to let the games play out..."

Darn near anything can happen between now and 12/6...

I would agree that they're all deserving, but that doesn't mean there isn't reason to believe Iowa isn't in the top half of those 8 teams or better than all the 1-loss teams. There's reason to believe they are, too, but it's not because of the 0 in the L column.

I'm fine with proving Herbstreit wrong one game at a time. At some point he will be forced to jump on, and I will enjoy hearing what he has to say then.

Who's definition of "level of competition"? Seriously is a 2 loss TCU without it's starting QB better than a full strength 2 loss Northwestern? Then on TOP of that throw in a loss to a total crap team.

To say that Oklahoma's resume AT THIS POINT is better than Iowa is absurd considering they lost to a team. They have 1 win better than any win Iowa had (Baylor, once again without their starting QB) and they have a loss. It isn't like Oklahoma has gone up against murderers row. They will have 3 tough game this year (Baylor, TCU, and Okie St.). That won't be any better than Wisconsin, Northwestern, and MSU/OSU/Michigan.

Oklahoma is only at #3, because of it's name. That same resume for Baylor, TCU, or Okie St. is ranked #6 behind Notre Dame. It is all about the name on the Jersey.
