Kiper and McShay on Jackson

Kiper:

Jackson has been the best corner in college football this season, and he showed it picking off Ohio State's J.T. Barrett three times in an upset win last weekend. He was phenomenal and showed off his stellar hands. Check out the athleticism on his third interception in the video above. He has five interceptions and has broken up 15 passes this season, his first as a starter. He has also pitched in on punt returns, though he hasn't broken off any big returns.

McShay:

Long w/ natural cover skills. WR hands. Still developing eyes/technique. Early-rd pick when he comes out, but would benefit from another yr

I hate to say it, but I don't think he would benefit from another year.

While it would be nice for Jackson to spend another year at Iowa improving his technique and working on his weak spots. It is hard to pass up with such a high draft grade. JOSH JACKSON IF YOU ARE READING THIS LET ME REPRESENT YOU. I have many connections in the league, I can get you on the phone with San Francisco and New York. Everyone is talking about the draft right now. You need a guy who can hook you up.

This is so huge on defense when a guy takes away a top receiver or half of field. They won't want to throw his way. He just came out of nowhere. Nice story.

I thought he was gonna be a pleasant surprise, but damn, the dude has been stellar. I'd love to have him in black and gold another season, but I definitely wouldn't blame him for taking the money and leaving early either.

I would love to see him in Black & Gold next season. But I would also like to see him in Red & Gold, or maybe Red & Blue.

The decision is around money
I hate to say it, but I don't think he would benefit from another year.
Depends how you look at it. King came back and his draft stock lowered but I think he became a better football player. Depending on where Jackson grades out, it might be tough to pass up the money, but he could definitely get better as a football player. Tough decision, just get insurance if you stay Mr. Jackson.

I think to an extent more so now then it has been in years past I really think guys need to evaluate where they are predicted to go and what teams are interested in them. Much of the success in pro football is landing in a spot where you are going to succeed with good coaches and a system that you can play to your strengths. Depending on how he grades and possible landing spots it may be better for him to wait a year to possibly land with a more positive team. NFL money isn't the same as it was a few years ago. The second contract is where guys are making the money so I don't think draft position is quite as important.

Pass rushers and cover corners that is what the league wants on D. Unless he runs a 4.8 forty or all of a sudden can't turn his hips and run with guys I would say he doesn't slide past the 2nd rd.

I seem to remember a quote from CJ last year. They asked him who the best athlete on the team was and without hesitation he said Josh Jackson.

what's most important to me, and something i've seen all season, is the 15 pbu's he has in 9 games.I mean, he is almost always right inside the wr's hip pocket. i don't think he needs to "learn" more on how to play the position; so much as, he need to be physically stronger. NFL WR's are gonna be much, much stronger than the avg B1G WR.

Part of his amazing season is he came out of nowhere so he was tested. It will be interesting to see if he gets avoided more from now on.

After what happened to Richard Sherman last night, we are all reminded how lucky and fortunate that athletes are in regards in injuries. If anything, Thursday night's game probably convinced Jackson that now is the time to pull himself out of college competition and concentrate on preparing for the combine and the draft. JOSH CALL ME UP I CAN HOOK YOU UP WITH A GOOD TAILOR THAT WILL MAKE YOU LOOK GOOD ON DRAFT DAY LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!

I thought Manny Rugamba was going to be the next Desmond King. I have been pleasantly surprised to see Mr Jackson be the dominating defensive force in the secondary this year. Manny, it's your turn to step up next year, whether Josh stays or not.
