Kiper and McShay on Jackson

Of course id like him to stay. He is not nfl ready. Cash a rookie contract late 1st round. Be a bust, where are they now segment. I think he needs to stay. King was a ball hawk but didnt have the measurables. JJack has the measurables and the tools. He needs another year and he will be top 15.

Go to the NFL and get better by competing with professional level players and professional level coaches. He's also on pace to graduate after the spring. Unless he doesn't like what he hears from the pro scouts, his work here is done and good for him.

Here’s hoping JJ stays around one more year to work on his zone coverage skills. With a favorable schedule and with what we have returning, maybe, just maybe, he would like to go for a better finish to his sr,. year.

He also pitched in on punt returns... might have been better to leave that nugget out. He was terrible at PR.

Would love to see JJ come back, but have to understand if he goes pro. Could be the best opportunity of his life to make bank.

Desmond made the mistake of playing the all-star game...where you are competing against guys in practice. My understanding is that he had a bad week for some reason. That started all the negativity. Honestly, I'd skip the combine too, and maybe do the Individual workouts in Iowa City. Desmond had 50 games of tape...he should have let that do the talking.

Jackson should go and skip the all-star games. What do you have to gain by doing that? I get the combine...as it is so hyped and he has the speed and measurables.

As much as I'd love for him to pull a King and come back I can't in good conscience say that's what he should do. He's more of a 1st round lock then what King was after his JR year. If your a top 3 corner and a 1st rounder you just go. The risk of injury or hurting your stock is too great. The money King lost he won't be able to make up at least not for a long time if at all. You can always get your degree if that's a goal of yours. Risking losing out on millions of dollars is something I can't ask someone to do. If he truly WANTS to come back like guys like King and Scherff have done then that's great. But no guilt tripping from me if not.

You have nowhere to go but down when your looked at as a top flight guy. He's got a ridiculously solid year of tape. As you mentioned King would have been wise to have done the same. You mention skipping those week long camps that conclude in a all star game. I wonder if we'll hear about players skipping bowl games like McCaffery did last yr...
