Kinnick to be re-seated in 2014

This has nothing to do with more money for the University. Heck, they could lose money just as easily as make more money.

Nobody is required to donate more money. It goes by priority points, and you select the seats that you are able to afford.
If you don't want to sit in the $600 donor seats, then sit in the $50 or free seats.

Majority of people end up purchasing their same seats that they had in previous years. A few people will move closer to the aisle and a few people will decide to switch sections altogether.

But this has nothing to do with the University asking for more money.

My season tickets are right in the middle of a section. I'll be happy to move over about 15 seats to get on the aisle. If I have to move back a few rows, that is completely fine with me.

This gives fans the opportunity to improve their seats. The University is not forcing anyone to go from the $50 level to the $200+ level. It is all up to the fan. Keyword is opportunity.

Fans can request seat upgrades every year anyways. This just allows everyone to do it at once in real-time and they can pick specific seats.

Heck, you can go from the $200 level to the $50 level. Or go to the endzone.

Sure, they likely will end up making money by doing this. I personally know fans that will be upgrading their seats.

But you are not required to do that.

So you think the athletic department is doing an entire re-seating to provide you the opportunity to move? I disagree.

You can improve your seats any year if you donate more and then call and ask them.

News Flash. They are talking about a mandatory donation for all seats. End zones. Every seat in the house. Not sure it will transition in 2014, but I'm guessing if 2013-2014 are as good as I think they are going to be for Hawkeye football, it could start that soon.

I'm not complaining. I'm just making a statement.

That blows.

Hell yes it's about the money. If you've had the same seats for umteen years and you don't give to the I-Club then you could get bumped. There going to change the points system to reflect the money you give more than the senority you have.Doesn't matter if you've been buying season tickets since Bob Commings was coach you will have to give to the I-Club if you want to keep them.

I'm not a huge fan of the spring scrimmage. I went this year because I wanted to see the new coordinators. One thing about the spring game, it's the only time you get a "free lunch" from either the U, or the I Club.

What does that have to do with the topic at hand.
