Kingsbury (no not that one)

There is change, and then there is unicorns living in my basement. With respect, this is the type of crap we make fun of Husker fans for all the time. I don't want that delusional posting to flow the other way. Picture some Husker fan reading this thread and going back to MouthBreathingHuskerFans.com and posting: "the dumb Iowa fans think that they can land Kingsbury as their OC. What a bunch of delusional idiots."

“ What a bunch of delusional idiots."

Let me see here………… where do I begin here.
Last B1G title 2004. Let’s see here it’s currently 2023 ………….. 2023 — 2004 = 19 years. The genius’s at Iowa feel this is worthy of constant pay raises and extensions. Said coach hires his son to be Offensive Coordinator who then produce one of the worst offenses in college football. Let’s top this off with a cherry on top. Take said offensive coordinator and also make him the QB coach of which he has ZERO experience which leads to one of the worst offenses in recent memory. Fan base seems perfectly happy to let this carry on into oblivion.

“What a bunch of delusional idiots." If anything this appears to be an understatement.

No, that doesn't count. I did meet Boss Hogg at Merle Hay Mall once. I know a guy who met Cooter at Southridge Mall.
Dang it. She was hocking some perfume I guess and doing a signing. My cousin and I didn't wait in line we just went up as close as we could to see her. I was like 18 in 1998 that yr at the time he was 13. I woulda went the rest of my life and forgotten about that too. What a fun day we had. Those were the days

I know I am in a really bad mood. Got reason to be. Almost have to laugh at the same time. Think about next season. Barring injuries the offense may actually improve dramatically (I hope it does) because we will be bringing in a QB who wasn’t brought up in the Iowa system. We know the guy can be a successful QB (it was unfortunate how we came to know this). So despite Brian this QB could be a great blessing to our offense, but it will be short lived when he moves on from college football. This could lead to fools gold as it buys Brian another year or two after that and then we are back into the same ole rut.

I would love to see Brian grow and learn and become a formidable OC, maybe even a Great one. What a storyline that would be. Coach’s son and ex Iowa player comes on to replace his dad and lead the program onto successful levels before not obtained. I would love it!!!!

I just don’t see it. It’s very frustrating and time is slipping by. I am 62 how much time do I have……… the clock is ticking. I think Iowa is one good offensive coordinator away from being not just a good program but a great football program that could rule the West division. Just damn, just damn is all I can say.

As long as the defense, special teams and kicking game are solid to elite, Kirk isn't going to give two shits about the offense, or show any desire to get into shootouts.

As long as he steals enough wins to keep the appropriate people satisfied that won't change.

As for me personally, a win is a win and I don't care how we do it.

You need to see a shrink if Iowa football success is what you're concerning yourself with to that degree at 62 years of age. It ain't gonna happen.

Prolly. That run from 2002-2004 was really our only flirtation with any level of sustained success. We got rewarded for it by being highly ranked going into 2005. We got shit trucked by Iowa State early and went on to finish 7-5. We will have flash in the pan years every now and then and you just gotta enjoy them when they come and hope for the best whilst preparing for the worst.

OK, I haven't read this thread since it was first posted. I jumped to the 2nd page and y'all're talking about Boss Hogg, Cooter, Jim Carrey, and Jon Miller. Is one of those guys going to be our new OC? TIA

The real question is how do you like your losses?

I like mine infrequently. If I ho to a nice restaurant, I don't like leaving good steak and just eat the terrific salad, soup and desert.
