Hey if we are going to go back to the three runs and punt game plan would it be to much to ask for a better punter?

Only KF would keep trotting the same guy out there to embarrass himself over and over. Our scholarship punter sits on the bench in the meantime. Why would it hurt to let him punt every once in a while? How can it get any worse?

Iowa has to recruit a punter in this class, period. And both of the current "punters" should be allowed to pursue their aspirations at a BCS school. Kickers don't suddenly learn how to kick in college. Neither of these guys will ever be a B1G-level punter. Do better.

I just looked at quik stats on the IAHSAA. There are several punters with several punts that averaged better than the IOWA PUNTER has been averaging. Yesterday he averaged 37yds/punt! The way I saw it that was with about 15 yds roll on every punt. I agree with everyone. recruit a punter. That's rediculious!!!!!!

Except, we didn't do "three runs and a punt" yesterday. Three runs and a punt may have afforded an extra yard and a half of punting "leverage"...

Last season the punting was a major

Seldom a kickoff returned, and usually pinned the opponents inside the 10

Huge difference with the field position game

Not certain that it would have made much difference yesterday

True, true. And then one of the few that was caught was so low that the return man took it back like 25 yards before we even put a hand on him.
