Unfortunately I think it means Dre's chances are done. You don't need 3 walk on point guards.

Stoermer and Stubbs really aren't PG's and aren't anywhere near quick enough to even attempt to guard an opposing PG at this level. I think Murphy will be there for the start of Fall workouts along with Floyd.

Too bad...he would have been a good story if nothing else...
I completely agree and there isn't a nicer kid out there than Dre. O well, I think Floyd will be a good walk on for the Hawks.

Good stories are good, but good players are better. And if KF is better then I prefer him as the walkon. Might help make a better story for the HAWKS.
I have to believe that some of these walk-on offers are intended to get more guys on the team with whom the guys FM wants to recruit can relate. While the starters might look familiar, the overall identity of the team has changed significantly. That might not translate to wins, but it could really help with recruiting.
That is a really good point. The staff isn't recruiting the corn fields anymore that is for sure.

I think he means athletic kids. Of all the people Fran has brought in whether it be walk-ons or Basabe they are athletic and can run n gun.

Point taken, i missed the part where he said they can relate. But I dont think Fran is bringing in African American walk-ons to help him recruit other African-Americans.
I think the most accurate description would be more Urban kids. If you are trying to get kids from the city to come to Iowa, it is good to have someone that can share about what the transition is like.

It is a very good strategy to bring in guys that know future recruits and Coach Fran is doing a very smart thing here.
