KF -That 'Ole Sly Ball Coach!! Maybe He's Not So Oopid After All!

Think about this. This may be more luck than planned but could really work in Iowa's favor going into this very tough month of football with some very key games. Wisconsin's been running the wheel's off of Gordon up to this point. Nebby's been doing the same with Abdulah & he did get dinged up yesterday.

Now with Iowa, not only is Weisman fairly fresh going into this stretch, but now Wadley comes into the picture in pretty much a 6 game regular season. Wadley's a freshman & maybe doesn't have the frame for an entire college season at this point. Did KF & the coaches know this or are they simply playing Wadley out of need? Did they know he may not have been ready to take a full season of hits as his body still develops? He comes in now in a tough stretch of games with 100% fresh legs while other teams have been using their horses. Was Iowa's O-line blocking an anomaly yesterday or will they start to get it going on a consistent basis. If they do & now coupled with Wadley's skills and productivity he can bring, this would play huge dividends going further. I have to keep in mind this was one game against a suspect D. It all keys off that O-line play.

Just a thought I had this morning.

We will know more after this coming week...Minny coming off a bye...and they are physical. That being said, if we can load up and stop their running game. Leidner isn't going to beat you consistently with his arm.

Turnovers...that's the key to in at Minnesota. If we don't make the big mistakes and put the ball on the ground. I think we win.

I was having the same thought regarding LeShun Daniels before he got hurt. Thought maybe they were going to unleash him later in the season. I couldn't figure out any other reason he would not be redshirted and then not touch the ball significantly until his junior year.

Concerning one thing that was said, obviously Wadley (or someone not named Damon Bullock) needed to step in with Jordan Canzeri down for the day and LeShun Daniels out for the year. He'll be a good back for us, and it's a good thing we have him with those injuries.

love Weisman, but he's no Melvin Gordon or Abdullah. No one is getting a heisman vote ready for mark Weisman

After watching #25 a few reps I was just waiting for him to break one...watching him is a lot like watching Melvin Gordon and Abdula... you can feel it...you're sorta waiting for him to find a little crease...and ten boom.

What does that have to do with this thread? I think you are saying they are running them because they are contenders. I am merely pointing out that Iowa could be in a good situation if the o-Line continues to block well with a nice find at RB.
