Like most of your general rant in this post, I could argue your point, but I find it fruitless because I totally disagree with most of your premises and most of your assertions. I don't think any bodies perfect and I don't think anybody can do no wrong. Only one person in earth's history can make those claims and me, you and the ferentz family are all below His pay grade. You and I won't agree man. You don't like him because of Rhabdo, and you won't like anything he does after, so, there's no argument, debate, or conversation here. I don't find him as awful as you, and I'm not trying to chase him out of town every time we don't beat some opponent by 50, so that obviously makes me a blind ferentz supporter. Those types of assertions keep true conversations from happening. Its cool though.

I have lived in Iowa City for years. Iowa City has the highest rental property rates in the state. There has been a waiting list for subsidized housing for as long as I can remember. Even when Brian was taking up space for those who were truly needy. Were Kirk and Mary just blindly ignorant of this? Shame on them either way.

I loved Larry Station too btw. So if you change your mind about responding can you specify which of my assertions re rhabdo you disagree with? Everything I cited is common knowledge or of public record.

Maybe the difference between us is I have no problem questioning our leaders. I have no problem questioning the motivations of our football coach.
He is NOT a saint or above criticism. Do you want me to list those schools who HAVE failed to create some balance or common sense or objectivity or perspective, whatever you want to call it, to the actions of their coaches and administrators?

Again, it is good Kirk is generous with his money
but that shouldn't excuse him of his past transgressions imo. Maybe he has evolved but how would you know? He rarely takes responsibility for anything.

Yeah at this point were done talking. Its not worth wasting my time in conversation with you if you're dropping garbage like that. Never said I was pro-rhabdo, never said he should get a free pass, never said he was above reproach. I disagree with you on one thing and you try and paint me like you know me and what i'm about, at that point its just not worth my time to get into a conversation with you. I've spent over 20 years of my life working with victims of people like Sandusky man. So no, when you say crap like that, we're kinda done. We're talking about whether a guy earns his money as a football coach, I think he does, you say he don't, and you gotta turn that into i'm okay with a public institution letting a pedophile rape kids on campus, and i'm okay with college kids contracting rhabdo and getting hurt......get outta here man, that's why i'm done talking with you. I'm on a freaking football forum for my school I support, trying to have a legitimate conversation about whether or not you think coach earns his money. A topic where intelligent conversation can happen on both sides and that's what you got to offer, that i'm pro this or that cause I take an opposing view. That's the sort of garbage that makes people not come here.

Maybe give him (Day) a year or two..A blind squirrel could win with the talent that was left for him on the OSU team. And Dantonio? If he hangs around 20 years, I am sure he will be paid more than coaches who have only been around a few years. Dumb comparisons.
The clown over at ISU makes 3.5 million a year. Compare what Ferentz has accomplished and what Campbell has done. Which coach is overpaid?

How did the golden boy in Ames do today? 3.5 million a year to hopefully land a turd bowl. ISU was favored by 10.5 points.. They are finding out it is a little different playing games when other teams actually take them seriously. Now they can get ready for a 40 point beat down in a couple weeks.
 
This list does put things in perspective. I counted 9 guys on that list with salaries greater than Ferentz who have not accomplished as much as Ferentz. Lots of coaches are overpaid.

Your ultimate goal as a coach is to compete for a National Championship. In order to do that you have to appear in BCS which is now the New Years Six bowls. Only 3 coaches ahead of him have failed to ever appear in such games . Taggert. Brohm and Fitzgerald. I’m counting overall body of work not just current school

Dantonio has been at MSU since 2007. 3rd longest tenure in the B1G. He's also accomplished more in a shorter time than KF.

3 B1G championships ( 1 tie, 2 outright), KF has 2 ties
3 division championships (2 of those were when they went head to head in the Legends) KF has 1 in an easier division
2 major bowl wins (Cotton, Rose), KF has 1
KF is 2-4 against Dantonio this decade

And I'd rather pay Day for what he is doing now and will do over the next 10 years than what KF did 10 years ago. KF's last decade has been a lot of 7/8 win unranked seasons and I just don't think that is hard to do given Iowa's schedule.
