KENO!

Not running the spread offense? Playing defense with LBs staying on the field?

I'm talking running a pro-style offense, and playing a vanilla defense when it seems like everyone else in the nation is switching to the spread on offense. Iowa and Wisconsin are the only teams in the Big 10 that don't do anything crazy or exotic on either side of the ball. They don't try to trick people.

While I agree defense is a mentality, there can be changes made on defense (and overall style) to make a team more effective. Look at how Notre Dame has changed since Harrongoty (sp?) was hurt and has come back, but off the bench. They changed their style of play to keep the score down and their defensive focus has turned up. It allowed ND to stay in more games to the end. Coach Brey decided to change because of personnel and it has worked for the most part.

I do agree on the difference between teams that are improving and teams that seemingly have no hope. Providence lost their last 11 games (I believe). It will be interesting to see how next year goes for them.

Providence will probably not do so well considering they will be losing their coach... Keno lost some close games this year to some really good teams, with a very young but talented team. This is the first year he really has had a chance to recruit and he has been putting together a nice class considering Providence is the Northweststern of the Big East.

Agreed. I just said differently. :)

I will bite... What makes you think that Keno will be coming to Iowa City as the HC for next year? Not saying you are right or wrong.... just curious as to your sources.. and please do not tell me Matt Perrault is your source!

Keep in mind this statement is based on Lick still being our coach as of now. I would be satisfied with Keno after reflection, but humor me a little bit.

Keno Davis might very well end up the coach at the University of Iowa, however, I do not believe he is a good choice. He barely makes my top 5 because he has NO track record of turning a program around. He inherited his Dad's program at Drake and went backwards in year 2 at Providence.

I do not think that warrants a serious look from GB.
