Keno out of running?

And Nick Saban is NOT going to be the next headcoach at Alabama!

I actaully believe Keno though...too soon to come back at this time.
 
Good. I think Iowa can expect more than a one hit wonder. Drake has recruited better since he left. Keno needs to stay at Providence.

I think it might be too early to eliminate anyone. This wouldn't be the first time a coach "assured" a recruit that he wouldn't be going any place.

Although, if Barta wanted Keno, he could have hired him two days ago.

It doesn't look good for us Keno supporters.

I think it's a mistake to not hire Keno, but I'll keep an open mind going forward.
 
If Keno wouldn't consider Iowa if offered, then who would.

It could mean that Iowa hasn't contacted Keno also or it could mean nothing other than not to hurt his recruiting in case he doesn't come to Iowa.

Don't know what to think of that
 
Unfortunately, this doesn't surprise me if true. Keno signed an extension after his first year through the 2015-2106 season. Plus, he's cleaned up the mess the last coach left and has had 2 very good recruiting classes.

I don't see much benefit for him to come back to Iowa and have to clean-up another mess. He's already 2 years ahead at Providence.

At the risk of reading way too much into this, I'm guessing Keno reached out and Iowa said no thanks. I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt he turned down Iowa.

Well then, that means absolutely nothing. What is he going to tell a recruit, "yeah I might go to Iowa" uh no.

Iowa offers near 2 million to Keno and it won't matter what he told a recruit.

Yeah, but one little detail you left out is that Drake has stunk on ice since Keno left.

They don't give trophies for recruiting rankings.
 
Weren't you the same one that was reporting a few days ago that your sources said Keno was chomping at the bits to be asked to come to Iowa? Do you actually know anything or do you just toss **** against the wall to see if it sticks? Must be in the 4:00 pm KXnO sports talk manual left by Marty...

I'm not defending Matt as he is a big boy and can do that himself, but Iowa may have said no to Keno.

I said that Keno wanted the job....I never said that Barta wanted Keno. I just said that I heard Tom called Barta....Barta talked to the players...Barta was going to fire Lickliter after hearing players were going to leave ....and Keno was a serious candidate for the job.

So far ... it's accurate from what we know.... now Iowa might have said no to Keno like Scott said above....
 
One stat to think about.... This season Providence had the worst statistical season in the history of basketball from a defensive standpoint. Taking into consideration points allowed, percentage, etc.. At least that is what Doug Gottlieb said?
