KC chiefs player commits suicide 0fficial thread

Wow, shot himself in front of GM and coach:

Belcher then drove to the team facility, where he later shot and killed himself in the parking lot of the team complex, in front of GM Scott Pioli and coach Romeo Crennel, as well as other team personnel. A KCPD spokesman said Pioli and Crennel tried to talk to Belcher, who thanked the men before taking his life.

Geesh! That's terrible!

And for whatever reason there is still a Chiefs game tomorrow...I realize it's a business, but after what people within the Chiefs organization just went through, it simply amazes me that they're expected to put it behind them and get back on the field. Not sure how Romeo's expected to have his mind focused on football after what he just witnessed, I know I wouldn't be able to.

no way would i be able to play after that, other than to just go thru the motions.

A lot of people wanted Pioli gone. Guess they'll get their wish. I can't imagine he would stay after watching a guy splatter his brains right in front of him.

In all honesty, from a leagues perspective, I wonder if the game gets called if it happens to an elite team or a team in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Does make you wonder. What if it were Brady and Giselle? Sadly, it would somehow be a bigger story but shouldn't be. Either way two lives are taken and many more impacted forever.

Teammates tweeting how great of a teammate he was. Our boy Moeaki included. How great of a teammate. He kills people. So great.

I hate Bob Costas and NBC. He spends 5 minutes during the game to give a lecture about handgun safety and a talk about "taking handguns away from people". Pisses me off to no end.

Not saying that. Just seems like some disrespect to the victim and her family. He murdered her, after all. I have no doubt he had demons, he obviously did.

I understand having conflicting thoughts about it and even missing your friend in the aftermath. I wouldn't post it to twitter though. Eventually you're going to realize "hey, that piece of **** killed someone" and you'll likely regret that decision. Plus, I agree that it is disrespectful to the victim.

They(Chief players) are all grieving in different ways. Saying that he was a good teammate in no way diminishes the gawd awful act that Belcher did. Cut them some slack... just saying
