kansas in a bcs bowl, what do you think?Did Mark Mangino cheat his ass off getting this program into the orange bowl?
Not sure. Looks like there's still plenty of it left.Did Mark Mangino cheat his ass off getting this program into the orange bowl?
Lovie has not been the answer at Illinois ... Miles won't be the answer at Kansas.
True, and I have to give them credit for snagging one of the big fish in coaching. At 65 years of age it's likely his last gig before he retires so I wish him well but it's a big hill to climb. But what does Kansas have to lose. They have to try something and hire somebody.
There are really only two answers for Kansas football:Lovie has not been the answer at Illinois ... Miles won't be the answer at Kansas.
No, I think he was abusive towards players, and that's what forced him out.Did Mark Mangino cheat his ass off getting this program into the orange bowl?
I know that but I was wondering before that . How the hell did he get that shit show into an Orange bowl? No, I think he was abusive towards players, and that's what forced him out.
They might as well have had sanctions though. Mangino relied so heavily on JUCOs and forced so many players out that there was something like 60 scholarship players on the Kansas roster as recent as 2014. They haven't had an uphill climb, they've had to fight upwards against a waterfall with gravity turned up to 11.No, I think he was abusive towards players, and that's what forced him out.
Meh that schedule they had that year was craptacular. They crossed over with a terrible Baylor, Okie State and A&M that year (the bottom 3 of the south)kansas in a bcs bowl, what do you think?
I don't think he cheated. His best offensive player was Reesing, who was a 3 star QB out of Texas without a lot of big offers. He somehow got that Talib kid out of Ohio on defense and he went on to play in the NFL but was a 2 star. It was basically the same thing Ferentz does - recruit a bunch of mediocre guys and once every few years there will be some gems and then if you catch a year with a soft schedule and don't choke too often you can put up a miracle season. They were in that Big 12 North and when Nebraska had a mediocre year, that thing was there for the taking.I know that but I was wondering before that . How the hell did he get that shit show into an Orange bowl?
In the last 10 years, Kansas is 6-81 in conference play.
Ten Les Miles wouldn't help that place turn it around.
but this is kansas we are talking about. The school where two wins in a season will get you a contract extensionMeh that schedule they had that year was craptacular. They crossed over with a terrible Baylor, Okie State and A&M that year (the bottom 3 of the south)
That's an amazing fact. What makes is even sadder is in the Big 8 days they only played 7 conference games and had 3-4 non-conference cupcakes. There are really only two answers for Kansas football:
1. Wait for basketball season.
2. Shutter the program.
Only coach with a winning record since WWII?
Mangino, who was 2 games over .500.
Not good...
I had to go back and check, but it was Point Of Know Return. Not sure what the heck that is supposed to mean, but it sounds wiser. Regardless, it still applies. If not Point Of No Return.
Kansas will pony up the dough to make their football program better. They'll cheat their asses off. Mark my words.Les is going to find out that recruiting to Baton Rouge is one thing. Recruiting to Lawrence is quite another.
Facepalm! I should have known that.I had to go back and check, but it was Point Of Know Return. Not sure what the heck that is supposed to mean, but it sounds wiser. Regardless, it still applies.
