As mentioned up thread it was when Gonder was kicked off the WMT radio broadcasts of Iowa football. Someone from WMT asked Hayden a question at the weekly presser that got Fry bent outta shape.

Hard to hang the current regime for something that happened under Fry's watch almost 3 decades ago. These guys are critical of Fort Kinnick on the regular anymore and do so without fear of banishment.

Hayden did kick off Ron Gonder from the WMT radio broadcasts of Iowa football. It's already been done and the Iowa press remembers that. That might be the only reason why the media treats Kirk with kid gloves.

OK, I lived (WAY) out of state when this must have happened. But I have NEVER heard this. What's the story here? Ron was always true class.

But there do seem to be fans who complain about the media being soft on Kirk and Brian. Even though that incident was 30 some years ago that is a good reason why the press doesn't nail KF to the wall about whatever topic at hand.

Fans complain about nearly everything. Doesn’t mean they have credibility.
