Josh O Slap on the Back Thread

Doesn't this guy deserve his own thread? I know there have been plenty of the negative variety.
He keyed our run the second half--
Assist to Mike G for 3 (off of beautiful head fake and jump stop)
Transition 3 right after he had a 3 rim out
Huge backslid cut!

Way to go Josh!

He was terrific today, pulled it when he had good looks, made a great cut and finish during our second half run. Earned every bit of playing time he got today.

I've been one of the negative ones pointing out our lack of production from the 2nd unit guard positions and today josh provided the spark we needed.

Great to see and if he continues to provide what he did today, we have a shot at the conference title.

That 3 he hit right after he had one go in and out was a huge play in the game. I love how he shot it with no hesitation and such confidence. Great to see. Big game for his confidence. What a great win today for the Hawks.

He also made an outstanding defensive play. Dropped down when they tried to feed it down low resulting in a steal.

This game was indicative of what I have been saying about our 11 man rotation...actually 10 as Jok is now out of the rotation against the top tier teams. There are 10 guys that play but the rotation is usually more like 8 guys...depending on play in game. Josh scored more today but his overall game is always good IMO. The next game it may be McCabe having a good game and he's involved more and someone else less. Depth is always a good thing IMO.

Oglesby played very well today. McCabe did not, but Windsor is right, next game it could be him. I hope now people stop calling him Oglewinkle. Those posters can happily eat some crow today.

I thought McCabe, despite his poor offensive showing, did some other things that helped the Hawks. He got 4 boards, 3 assists (game high tie with Gessel and Marble), had only 1 TO, and played decent D.

It seems to me that when JO plays "basketball" and doesn't feel like he's pigeon-holed into being a 3pnt shooter, he has better games. The head fake then drive to the hoop for 2 was very nice. Just let him be a basketball player and not just a 3pnt shooter. He's a helluva player. I believe he was the one that blocked the alley-oop pass from Craft to Thompson. Everyone, we have a bunch of damn good players on this team and JO is certainly one of them.

This. He's more Matt Gatens than Jon Diebler.

Zach may have struggled with shooting but he still impacted the game, 4 rebounds and 3 assists with only 1 turnover. Plus he brings a physical presence into the game that is not recorded statistically. Shots will fall the next game.

As for Josh, great game. Very happy for him. Love that he came right back after his miss to knock in the next one. Again tonight he had zero turnovers. He continues to play clean, smart basketball.

Fully agree, remember that pass to I think White or Utoff to beat the press? Thought I was watching a Heelan H.S. game.
