Josh Brown to Murray St.

He probably realized that the talent in front of him was too much to overcome and with Coker coming in we are pretty solid at RB right now. I would have loved to see him on the defensive side of the ball but obviously he didnt want to do that......Good luck to him and hopefully he succeeds there.......

Opens up another scholarship for guy who really wants to be an Iowa Hawkeye.

Murray State? Powerhouse football? Interesting.

Was he that big guy that redshirted this year, and there was some minor talk of pulling it so he could play NW or Ohio State if we needed him?

Care to ellaborate on this one? Just curious.

We've got 8 scholarship running backs next year, IIRC...it's simply a numbers game.

Brandon Wegher
Adam Robinson
Jewel Hampton
Brad Rogers
Jeff Brinson
Paki O'Meara
DeMarcus Coker - HS Class of 2010
DeAndre Johnson - HS Class of 2010

There's a logjam...I don't have any insight or insider knowledge, but considering how young we are, I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one of the above guys leave in addition to Brown's departure.

could have nothing to do with this. could be academics, could be wanting to be closer to home, could be wanting a smaller school, could be wanting a differnet environment, could be a bad fit, etc., etc., etc......he's not stuck at RB if he doesn't like the depth there.

Ankle23, my post was responding to the guy who wanted clarification from someone who thought an additional back could leave before next season. I don't have any idea why Brown chose to leave...but if someone else leaves, it could be due to the number of RB's we have on scholarship next year.

Ok. I think someone said he saw the writing on the wall in the RB slot......maybe the reason, maybe not.

No offense to Paki, but he will probably never play running back again. I think he is great on special teams. Coker and Johnson will most likely redshirt. You don't know what kind of health you have with Hampton and Brinson going into next year. So, at this point you only have three healthy scholarship backs going into next year in Wegher, Robinson and Rogers! You can never have too many backs and right now, I think we have the right number!

I wonder if Rogers could potentially move to fullback?

Could be a good move for him, although he was adamant about NOT being labeled a fullback coming out of high school. I think he rejected an Ohio State offer to play fullback for the Buckeyes.

Rogers is one player that I'm very curious to finally get to see on the field. At 5'9 and 2?? lbs., he makes things interesting.
