Jordan Bohannon Involved in Physical Altercation

No one should ever punch somebody. But the world would be a way worse place if everyone knew there was a zero percent chance they would ever get punched, regardless of what they did. Could you imagine if everyone knew they had free reign to say and do whatever the hell they wanted?

Go to a bar in a rough neighborhood... lots of people doing bad things.. not worried about getting knocked the F out - many were spanked or worse as children.

This narrative that jordan's drunken idiocy is because he is a spoiled brat is ill concieved.

While it could some truth behind it - in the end its meaningless in quantifying this type of behavior.

Yeah its the affluent people you gotta watch out for at bars - their dangerous snobs.

If he is spoiled or not... really means nothing... I'd say people of his background are actually less likely to start brawls at bars.

Prisons and jails would back me up on that...
Well technically Bohannon didn't start a brawl. He just acted like a douche and thought he was untouchable.

I would assume most people saying he deserved what he deserved are using hindsight to know he didn't die from the punch. The main reason you shouldn't punch someone is you don't have the luxury of knowing what will happen if you do. If Jordan did what was said, I'd say waking up with a sore head and a wounded ego is exactly what he deserved.

You think mouthy people getting punched is going to shut them up? You may not be - but I see that as some kind of conclusion on here.

I've never met a mouthy person that anyone could shut up - no matter how many beat downs.

Maybe waterboarding or torture perhaps - if you could just break them...

What are you talking about? Are you saying that hitting hitting someone causing serious head injury is making this a better place?

There are laws in place that give someone repercussions for acting in this matter. If what people are saying are true about Jordan it is possible he could face charges. At the very least someone with a level head on their shoulders (not drunk) should have escorted Jordan out, taken him home, to avoid all of this. There is no need for someone to take the law in their own hands (in this case fist) and lay someone out like that can cause serious head injuries. There are no words coming out of Jordan's mouth that would justify that.

My point isn't that he's some danger to society like that Appling dude that was just arrested for murder in MSU. I'm not comparing him to anybody else. I'm just pointing out what others have noted as well. His own behaviors are what attributed to the specific situation he was in. Not as some in general over arching statement. Such as some made up stat like do 66% of white rich guys start fights in bars on Saturday nights in May kind of thing. No just that he himself put himself in that situation and anybody with a brain shouldn't be surprised by what happened

You are basically saying how he was raised means nothing in context of what I was saying? If so I disagree. How he (and we all) were raised I think directly affects how he conducts himself.

I mean there are some places in the world where you really have to fight because its lawless and dangerous.

But I'm not sure Iowa City quite rises to that level.

You - like others suggesting or directly saying he was acting like that because he is a spoiled-well to do brat.

This is just some narrative people want to nod at because they don't like him.. because they find him arrogant ect...

My point is simply being arrogant and a big mouth can often have nothing to do with money.

You don't know how he was raised or if it has any context here - of course I think it matters how some one was raised - but we don't know.

Most of what you wrote I agree with besides this specifically in regards to me anyway. I root for the guy. I've cheered for every shot he's ever made and the one he missed on purpose. I've listened to some of his podcasts with his buddy. Based off of what I know of him I didn't have a reason to dislike him. I don't know anyone that's directly interacted with him at all. But as I've nosed over 40 years of age something I've began doing more of is separating the players as entertainers for myself and who they are as people.

I love JBo the player for Iowa and what he brings to the team on the floor. However knowing what's come out about how he conducts himself with his night life (not just the other night) I don't get down with. I wouldn't want my kids behaving that way. This isn't some new thing.

I was a Kirby Puckett fan as a kid and he was my favorite player growing up. But as I got older and heard about his infidelity and how he beat on his wife that can tug on a person multiple different ways. So I like the players and can become indifferent/dislike how they conduct themselves as people. But that's just me

Gotta be a bit careful with this one to protect the guilty.

I was a bouncer at The Fieldhouse for a couple years during college, not because I was all that tough, but because I knew all of the FB and BB players and most of the wrestlers since I was a student manager for the FB team. So, if one of the athletes started to get a bit disorderly I could usually talk them down, so to speak, or I could have their team mates get them out before they caused too much of a hassle.

One night I came into work and the other bouncers all sported black eyes or butterfly bandages. When I asked what happened I was told that three wrestlers, all under 160 lb, had basically cleaned out the bar the previous night. Took on bouncers, customers, you name it.

The story I was told by my boss was that the owner of the bar had a talk with Gable, and these three were banned. I’m not sure what punishment Gable meted out, but I’m sure he wasn’t happy. But, no charges were filed.

Moral of the story: don’t mess with wrestlers, regardless of their size.

Yeah, attempt to DUKE it out with a wrestler, perhaps especially a Hawkeye wrestler, and you will find yourself on your back on the floor in an instant

Then twisted in knots

Become Pretzel Man all of a sudden

I finally watched the video. If you froze time and ask everyone in-frame to raise their hand if mommy and/or daddy still pay your cell phone bill, I all but guarantee every single person raises their hand.

Conclusion: none of you are anything resembling tough and whatever the hell you are fighting over at a college bar in Bumfuck Iowa City, IA is stupid. Go home and sleep it off, meatheads.
I take offense to that. Iowa City is not Bumfuck!

Lol, no. I was saying the threat of getting hit keeps most people in check. If you don't have at least the threat of retaliation, real life becomes Twitter, Facebook, and Hawkeye Nation. FWIW, I think the dude who punched him is a tool bag and deserves whatever punishment he gets.

Bohannon deserved to get punched in the face. Anyone who would go as far as to actually punch him is probably an idiot and deserves anything he gets.
