It's funny how at certain times in our lives the planets seem to align at the right time. The planets seemed to have aligned at the correct time for our very own Jon Miller. On the eve of the new season, he is embarking on an opportunity with the Big 10 network with a new show called "The Pulse". Jon will also be reporting on Iowa football at times.
I can't help but think how this is the best moment for Jon to spread his wings on this new endeavor with the expectations of the Iowa team this upcoming season. The success of the Iowa team this year could have a direct impact on how Big 10 fans around our conference view Jon.
Undoubtedly, Jon will have a little bias for Iowa which is understandable. I'm certain he will try to curve his bias but this is difficult to do when one has a passion for a team. Anyway, the success of this Iowa team could really legitimize Jon in the eyes of other Big 10 fans.
The fans will see Jon on TV being an Iowa homer. If the team meets or exceeds the expectations this year & what Jon states comes to fruition, this will legitimize Jon, especially if Iowa were to make a historic run at at National Championship. But, if Iowa flusters & unfortunately not live up to expectations for this year, well, than Jon would just be viewed to other Big 10 fans as "that Iowa Homer". I hope that is not the case.
But, this could be an interesting upcoming season for Jon Miller & could really solidify his place at the Big 10 network. Good luck Jon.
