Jon Miller is a hero

Because it's his job, not researching and reporting all things Iowa sports. Others out there are more connected and informed and are more reliable and a better source for Hawkeye info. His opinion is no more informed than the average fan. Not a knock on him, the rest of us have jobs and possibly families as well that take up nearly all of our time, but some hang on every word he says, because he's a Hawkeye "hero".

Well, he does a better job covering the Hawks, and has more insightful and entertaining opinion pieces than the "full-timers" that cover Iowa sports. He, at least, isn't afraid of asking the tough questions in public. Guess that makes him the CJB of Iowa sports reporters.

In the end, you either place value or credence in it, are entertained by it, or not....and if it's the latter, that's totally fine...but if that's the case, there has to be a better use of your time than hanging around here ;)

WTF does J Miller selling propane have to do with the price of beans? I sense some site envy.

More than you might realize, city slicker. Many farmers dry their corn and beans with propane. They also heat their homes with it. Jon is performing a service essential to the national food supply; do not be dissin propane.

So what tough question face-to-face did he ask Ferentz?

Wait, what? First Dave Schwartz is a great journalist and now Jon Miller is a hero and should be the voice for all Iowa fans? One dude's never worn a jock in his life and the other dude's a propane salesman in Oklahoma that has a website on the side. Something funny is going on here.]

But I can tell you, as one of Jon's customers, that he is a great propane salesman, with an incredible ability to analyze the market and give his customers sound information and recommendations. That said, having met Jon personally, he takes what he does here at HN very seriously and while he doesn't pretend to be the voice for all Hawk fans, he has done a great job over the past several years in "taking the temperature" of the fan base and reporting that temperature as honestly and openly as possible.

Thumbs up

Exactly. I'm not saying Miller is a hero or anything but right now I like this site better then anywhere else. There's one poster on here..can't remember the name but he has posted on here a lot talking crap about Miller and saying how horrible the site is. What kind of pathetic loser would spend so much time on a site that he hates? If you hate it so much go away and shut up.
