Jon did NOT destroy the Iowa QB regression story

Good lord this is even worse. You apparently don't know much about football.
And your last question doesn't make any logical sense. Stanzi wasn't ultra conservative in 2010. Taking 2009 Stanzi means you better take the 2009 defense because with a mediocre defense that team is probably only winning 6-7 games.

haha - exactly - why is that so hard to understand? The 10 defense was a shell of the 09 - and in fact, probably allowed the coaches to be a little more aggressive in play calling with Stanzi because they could rely on them getting the stops. Each year and pieces of the puzzle are different. Not a hard concept. - legit arguments can be made for both sides of the coin, but no one is "destroying" anything unless it's TK hitting a porta potty.

Brown Mtn Campground near Kirwin, WY. I'm sure there are still signs of me on that toilet in case you're ever in the area.

Stanzi career stats

Oddly, ultra-conservative Stanzi averaged 8.7 yards/attempt and 0.072 TD/att; and free-wheeling, risk-taker Stanzi averaged 8.0 yards/att and 0.056 TD/att.

4th quarters were different between the 2 years.

In 2009:
  • Stanzi over the first 3 quarters: 135/245 (55.1%), 1807 yards (58 yds/quarter), 11 TDs (0.35 TDs/quarter), 13 int (0.42 int/quarter)
  • Stanzi during 4th quarter: 38/61 (62.3%), 648 yards (81 yds/quarter), 6 TDs (0.75 TDs/quarter), 1 int (0.125 int/quarter)
In 2010:
  • 1st 3 Q: 182/272 (66.9%), 2439 yds (62.5 yds/Q), 19 TDs (0.49 TDs/Q), 4 int (0.10 int/Q)
  • 4 Q: 39/77 (50.6%), 565 yds (43.5 yds/Q), 6 TDs (0.46 TDs/Q), 2 in (0.15 int/Q)
  • The 2010 stats are skewed somewhat by the fact that Iowa had 4 blowouts (E. Ill, ISU, Ball St. MSU), and basically they had 0 blowouts in 2009

I am just hoping for a better than average (7-5) year. Would be satisfied at 10-2 and I see no reason (other than injuries) why that can’t happen.

You can talk recruiting, percentages, this and that but at the end of the year what really matters is wins and losses and which teams were involved. Also, if your relevant in the college football world. If your not your just Iowa State and a bunch of apologist.
