Jok named Iowa's Mr. Basketball

Jok does not redshirt next season. This team cannot hit a three to save their life. Oglesby to the end of the bench and Jok gets his minutes.

I would consider redshirting Jok next year as well. I might include Ingram too. We will have more than enough talent to contend in the Big Ten next year without them and unless Jok is a total defensive stud, I seriously doubt he will see the minutes that make it worth burning a year.

I would to if he has any lingering injuries that he has been playing through.

I'm also concenred with Jok's inability to lead his team to state. I understand it is a team sport but guys like Woody, Paige, even Glen Worley bakc in the day all took their teams to state. Granted it is a team sport but even if Jok isn't the one scoring due to drawing the attention of the D, I would have hoped he would have made the players around him better and created opportunites for them to score.

Jok played very unselfish and passed the ball to open teammates all season. The problem was the teammates struggled with hitting shots and shot selection.

Valley had not lost since early January before the regional finals. In the regional final Pete shot 7-14 from the field the rest of the team shot 8-28, a lot of them wide open looks. The loss had nothing to do the Pete, he did not force his shots and played hard.

Basabe had a rough sophomore year as well. I too think people are giving up on JO way too early in his career. If he can even shoot 5% better next year that will make this team better. Jok should take some of the pressure off of him. We are going to be such a deep team next year.

I'm excited to see what lineups Fran rolls out on the floor. I'm guessing our starting 5 will be Marble, Gesell, White, Mel and Woody or swap Mel and Uthoff. Our second line of Clemmons, McCabe, Mel or Uthoff, Gabe, JO, Ingram, Meyer..there's no question we will be hard to keep up with next year. If Jok comes in and shoots well right away..look out!
