Jok has the smoothest shot I ever seen .

His shot and game has kinda developed into a poor mans Ray Allen. And who knows by this time next year maybe he'll be at that level. He's already got the short memory necessary to be a dead eye shooter. Cause even the best will miss a few. It's having the confidence to rise up and take the next look you get to make you special. The thing about him and this team I love is the other team can't take away any one thing. Cause we just rotate through out the game based on the defense and what they are giving us. If you try focusing in on just Uthoff or Just Jok it won't work.. And that's what helps get Jok the looks he can get. Unselfish teammates willing to make the extra pass don't hurt either. What a fun team this is to watch!!

Maybe I'm forgetting someone, but Jok is probably the best sure shooter I've seen in a Hawkeye jersey since probably Kent McCausland. Dude makes it look so easy.

I loved Kingsburys stroke. I thought his shot selection wasn't that great but man when he had his feet set and shoulders square he was ridiculously good too. I'll never forget that game against Kansas McCausland had... I was 16 and got to go to Iowas summer basketball camp McCauslands senior year (do the math how old that makes me) and got to shoot some with him. Nice guy and just an effortless stroke too.

If I remember correctly was't Jok a Top Ten prospect before his high school injury? He's sure starting to look like one.
Yes I think after his freshman year in HS I think he was well on his way to being looked at as a 4 star kid every big school would have wanted. And that knee injury is probably what lead him coming to Iowa. Who knows where he'd have gone if he'd have had the NCs and Dukes calling. Fran stuck with him and his loyalty has paid off big time. He may not be quite the explosive athlete if his knee hadn't gotten shredded. But pretty safe to say he's developed quite nicely.

I saw him play in HS and knew his shooting was carryover and was confident he would become this player (if Fran could get him to play defense)

If I remember correctly Jok was the #1 recruit in the nation as a freshman. His shot is silky smooth. What was Luke Recker's 3pt percent..?

Kingsbury was ridiculous. Yeah, his shot selection was often pretty horrible, but he could often make even the bad shots.. I remember one game at Minnesota, he drained a 3 that was literally almost half way between the top of the key and mid-court. Insane. I'd love to see that highlight reel some news station released once.

Someone else mentioned Luke Recker, that guy could fill it up, too.

The McCausland game @KU is one I'll never forget, but I also remember him going off against Arkansas in the NCAA tournament. IIRC, Iowa was down 14, then Kent hit 3 straight 3's to make it a 5 point game just like that. He wasn't a great athlete and couldn't really create, but if he was left open, he was deadly.

I would think that Adam Haluska and Luke Recker would be in the conversation as well. Haluska had no help his Sr. year (Alford's last year) and Recker was nails before he got hurt. Kent McCausland is for sure in this group as well but he needed to be open as he couldn't really create his own shot.

Recker is probably the closest example for pure stroke. McCausland was more of a set shot and Haluska had a push shot release. I would argue that Haluska had no help though his senior year, Tyler Smith was one of the best freshman we've had in the past 20 years. Shame how things went after he left Iowa.

I was a big fan of Vince Brookins as well. And man, Matt Gatens had a great senior year stroking it. Wish be played on better teams!
