John Raymon on why he left Iowa

Good for Raymon going back home to take care of his responsibilities. That's all i'm gonna sayon this one. On Coach K- you either love him or hate him. Most of the guys who love him are in the nfl, most of the guys who hate him are not.

We aren't drawing conclusions based on something one former player said.

We're drawing conclusions based on:
1) multiple private comments from current and former players and staff
2) JDM reporting that KF called coach K on the carpet earlier this year re his approach

I missed that, what were the circumstances of said calling out?

Am I correct in thinking Anthony Fergusen is still taking classes at Iowa.

Thats exactly what I was thinking and last I knew he was.

The odds are pretty good that Kaz had something to do with him leaving football.

Wasn't he a 4*? I know he was offered by PSU.

This is one player specifically saying he did not get along the best with Coach K. That is life. I don't have any hard feelings toward Coach K. In fact, I am surprised at the 'good riddance' messages that have appeared since Coach K's departure. Most fans did not have a problem with Coach K before he announced his decision to leave. All of a sudden he is an ahole, etc.Life goes on folks. We don't know the ins and outs of relationships Coach K developed with his players. Raymon is the first player who has publically made a comment about Coack K so I think we should refrain from bashing Coach K ... He made a move that he felt would help him professionally. So be it. We all make moves within our own jobs; especially if we think better opportunities await us. You can't fault a person for that ... I think drawing our own conclusions based on something one former player said is not warranted in this situation. Some speculate Coach K was shown the door. Not sure how people draw that conclusion. Remember how many of us have complained about how "loyal" Kirk is to his staff so I question the idea of Coach K being shown the door. Interesting how people can all of a sudden turn on someone ... Coach K did nothing bad ... He made a move professionally ... So be it ...

You do know he went to Nebraska right? That alone is plenty reason to rip on him

or they just put up with him because they wanted to stay at iowa. i believe aiken put some guys in the pros too and he didnt have the mass exodus like kaz did.

I wonder if these players that left just distanced themselves to avoid conflict or finger pointing, or did Ferentz get a chance to talk with these guys before they left to find out why they were leaving. If he did get to talk to them, I wonder if they were honest. If they were honest, I wonder if Ferentz said anything to the D Line coach. If you have a coach who is responsible for that many players leaving, that's a HUUUGGGEEE problem. Where there's smoke, there's fire. Glad he's gone.

i'm guessing ferentz has a good idea given he is the head coach AND his son is on the team......

I talk to some people connected to the program a couple of days ago.
Coach K was pushed out the door. The other assistants didnt like him and he told to
start looking he would not be retained. The players to a man hated him.
He was the most arrogant person to work in the program since Frank Verducci
