Heard its been effective at the highschool level, but must admit I don't go to many HS games.

I go to a bunch of high school games in Iowa where the sit down rule is in place. It has certainly be a challenge for the boys' coaches. The rule was in place previously for the girl's coaches the previous few years. Saw our coach get T'ed up in an early game this year for violating the sit down rule. It does keep coaches down....most of the time.

The seat belt rule is mostly effective in high school (ie. keeping the coaches down). The coaches know how to get a technical - just stand up while the ball is in play. It was funny watching the IC High's varsity boys coach a couple of weeks ago. He had an assistant on each side that would basically hold him down when he was ready to get up and say something during a play. Can you imagine today's college coaches with the seat belt rule? :)

Here's a picture of Wake Forest's coach Horace “Bonesâ€￾ McKinney back in 1964 actually using a seat belt.
