Joe Wieskamp Announces He'll Pass on NBA Draft Process

Peter Jok was one of the Top 5 best pure shooters to ever come through Iowa's MBB program. But, the guy could not play defense if it were declared National Peter Jok Defense Day and he was given an Electronic Defense Machine to wear on his back during games. Despite the misimpression that defense is not important in the NBA, you have to have some rudimentary skill to stop your opponent unless you can shoot like S. Curry.

JW is an above average defender and he is long. He needs to improve his offensive game a good deal, but he has the physical tools and the jump shot to play at the next level.

It wasn't even a sophomore slump. It was a February slump. He played great up until then and played really bad after. It wasn't fatigue like people suggest either. He just lost his shot. He couldn't even release the ball properly. You could tell the shot was off the second it left his hand.

He was still 3rd team all BIG. When a defense only has 1 or 2 players to key on defensively unless you are an all time great, teams will limit you. With more shooters on the court to swing the ball to, driving lanes will open up which will also allow more open looks from deep. I think the weight of this Iowa team needing him to be a scorer despite extremely tough defense hurt his confidence.

Something hurt his confidence, that's for sure.
