Jeremy Lin IS

You forgot to quote Morey where he said he regrets cutting him(its on Twitter if you know what that is). Please learn reading comprehension 101 and get back to me.

Thanks for all your hard work as a Hawkeye thou Troy. We appreciate it.

What are you even talking about? I have said NOTHING about Houston in the whole thread, you only brought it up after you were repeatedly owned. It's clear as day for everyone reading the thread to see.

Also it may shock you but I am not Troy Skinner. You definitely sound like someone from Marshalltown who would call himself TMoney though!

The quote fail has made this more difficult to decipher, but I'll try. I've even numbered for ease of understanding...

Here's the problem I see with the posters response to my post.

1) In my post I wrote that Tebow pretends to be an underdog. I'm guessing in this section that the poster is referring to Tebow's faith, which I never bring up.

2) You forgot to mention that the state of Florida changed it's laws to allow home-schooled athletes to participate in public school sports specifically because of Tebow. Entering the NFL was the first time Tebow wasn't hailed as the next big thing. One instance of being questioned doesn't make someone an underdog. I believe it is a gimmick to promote Tim Tebow's business interests.

3) Tim Tebow was the third string QB when he leap-frogged Brady Quinn for the starting spot. He didn't earn the spot, it was given to him (probably in the hopes that he would fail, but that's a whole other thing).

4) Again, the message of the post was in reference to the underdog tag Tebow has attached to himself. Breaking one sentence into fragments to make your point has made it bit confusing, but hey, whatever you have to do.

5) My sole purpose wasn't to degrade Tebow, but to point out that Lin's story actually is the story of an underdog. Lin was never expected to succeed at any level, and here he is making people talk about the Knicks again.

6) In my opinion Lin's story is far more impressive than Tebow's. I'm still entitled to my opinion, right?

1) I think I misread that part...I took the first sentence as a knock on his faith, which is the normal starting point for the Tebow-bashing.

2) Didn't forget...never knew to mention in the first place. :p Even if that's the case...I don't think the thought of Tebow not being a good pro was an example of "one instance." There weren't very many people who thought he'd even be a marginal pro unless he changed positions. I don't think it was happenstance that he was hailed as the next big thing coming out of high school...he was one of the best school-boy QB's in the nation. That's why he got the press he did coming out of school...not some gimmick to assist in his business interests.

3) Whose fault is it that Tebow leap-frogged Brady Quinn? Maybe John Fox should be blamed for Tebow-mania...he started it after all. Tebow was given an opportunity (much like Lin has been due to injuries, and actually was given the opportunity ahead of Tony Douglas, who I believe was ahead of him on the depth chart, although NBA depth charts are not my forte) and, regardless of how he got it, did as best as he could with it.

4) Did Tebow give himself the underdog moniker? Serious question...I've never heard or read anything to that end, but I could be wrong. If anything, ESPN gave him that stamp in an effort to make it a better story. And I had to break the sentence into fragments to compartmentalize my thoughts on how I disagreed with the premise of your post.

5) Yet, as I think was pointed out above, you decided to start this entire thread with the statement that Jeremy Lin IS everything Tim Tebow pretends to be...how else is someone supposed to take that?

6) Absolutely...and I'm still entitled to disagree with said opinion. I think you could have done your OP completely differently, without the hit on Tebow, and still gotten your point across. But you didn't...

The Warriors made the calculated decision cut Lin because of their risky pursuit of Clippers restricted free agent center DeAndre Jordan, a player they felt could fill their void down low. From Lacob on down, the feeling among the Warriors' brass was that notoriously cheap Clippers owner Donald Sterling might let Jordan go if Golden State could offer an annual salary of more than $10 million.

But to create salary-cap room for what would turn out to be a four-year, $43 million offer, they had to cut Lin, use their amnesty clause on veteran guard Charlie Bell and delay the signings of rookies Klay Thompson and Jeremy Tyler. Losing Lin was worth about $300,000 in terms of Jordan's proposed annual rate, a relatively small amount but still an important piece of their plan.

I really don't know what you are arguing anymore. Not sure why you are so mad at GSW when you should be mad at Houston, and maybe even D'antoni for not starting him sooner.

Why do you insist on insulting our intelligence? If your sole purpose was to praise Lin instead of dump on Tebow, then you wouldn't have written "Jeremy Lin IS everything Tim Tebow pretends to be" in your first post. And if all you cared about was propping up Jeremy Lin, your second post wouldn't have been "Tebow is about 98% hype".

If you just wanted to show your support for JL, you could have without bringing Tebow into it. You could have posted in the existing Lin thread. But you hate Tebow (for reasons you chose to articulate here, despite the fact you claim your purpase isn't to degrade him), and you brought up Lin as a contrast to Tebow to insult Tebow, and now you're lying to me and saying you never wanted to do that in the first place.

So no, you're not entitled to your opinion. You're the one running away from your statements when you got called on it.

So trying to explain my position is running away from it. Ok, whatever you say.

I can' t win with you people so I won't try anymore. Please feel free to ignore any of my future posts.

Apparently insulting posters is a big part of posting on here. I'm just trying to fit in.

The Ghost has spoken. Make it so!

ALL HAIL TIM TEBOW, THE MOST UNDERDOGGED UNDERDOG IN HISTORY!

I am not mad at anyone, I said Golden State made a horrible roster move, they had the chance to evaluate Lin for a year every day in practice and made the decision he wasn't worth a TINY salary. You have tried to correct me and say it was about money which is ludicrous. Lin was a heavy fan favorite in the Bay Area. Do you think they are going to say they cut him because they thought he sucks?

The Warriors GM has already admitted why Lin was cut, because they made an incorrect evaluation of his talent. Only a fool would believe it was to save next to nothing in salary, especially after the GM says as much to the New York Times. They could have used their amnesty clause to void a large salary and instead used it on Charlie Bell who only made 4 Million a year when they have poor players on their roster making way more they could have used it on.

It's hilarious you continue to embarrass yourself rather than simply admit you were obviously wrong.

This book coming to a store near you.

all i can think of is pick and rolls with lin and amare and if nothing is ther kick it to melo and he will make something happen in the last 10 sec of the shot clock. lin will find a way to keep amare and melo happy. he will average a double double with those two in the lineup.

Lin has also provided some important life lessons ...
