One of those billboards was on I-380 between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. When asked about the billboard Kirk said that he didn't notice it saying "I don't do much sightseeing this time of the year."

I was in Geneva, Iowa a few weeks ago for a flea market. Geneva, I would guess, is about an hour from Ames. You definitely knew you were in Cyclone country. You wouldn't have seen this that far away from Ames twenty or thirty years ago. So maybe some baby steps to what Pollard is proclaiming.

As far as I'm concerned, ISU is to Iowa what the White Sox are to the Cubs. And for Iowa to truly become a Cyclone State they would have dominate for at least a decade while Iowa is a bottom feeder for at least that long. Now if you want to compare athletic directors, that's a different story.

4 in a row in football
2 of 3 in men's basketball
14 straight in wrestling
3 straight in women's basketball
We have a baseball team
Beat them in VB this year

I will admit that I'm cherry-picking a bit, because I didn't look to see how our pottery team or quilting teams did against them. They may be dominating us in both of those.

Pollard is 1000x better at his job than barta, but statements like the bear statement simply wreak of insecurity. It’s just like a athletic short man complex. I hate seeing Iowa lose to ISU, but I do like having a second high achieving program in the state and that will happen until Campbell bolts for the SEC.

And he will bolt and I think very soon. Campbell can proclaim he is all in with ketchup and mustard but when any school in the SEC calls, he will be gone.

The Auburn job will probably be open if they don't have a big year. Seems like a good landing spot for Campbell.

Yes I am sure Pollard and the clowns are the biggest baddest bear in all of Story county, the rest of the Hawkeye State, not so much.

Seems kinda bush league, but you do what you have to do to rally the troops I guess.

After losing 4 in a row you can bet that Sept 14th is circled in red on the schedule up in ames.

That is the only thing missing from Campbell's resume. He gets that game he will get a statute and a street named after him.

Well...when you were one of the worst football programs in College Football for 50 years or so...well...it's not hard to see what a couple of 8-5 seasons can do for you. 8-5 must kind of feel like the football playoff to Ronald McDonald's Furious Clones. Imagine being constipated for like 40 years and then you get something out...it would make you proud and you would feel really good about yourself.

Arguably the best coach ISU has ever had has never beaten Iowa. I've said before this is going to be a dogfight game in L'Ames, but I honestly think we are going to beat them with a stellar defense. Great defense travels well.

Meh, he was playing to the crowd. It was a "Cyclone" tailgate... His job is to improve cyclone athletics, so in this case, entertain folks and try and get them to pony up their money for tickets/donations.

Every coach in history always claims they are all in except the day they sign the new $6 mil a year job blue blood contract. I laugh at all the delusional cyclone fans who claim ISU is “all Campbell wants, he’s not fancy, he doesn’t need the NFL or Ohio state”

ISU is the bear? LOL. If Iowa announced it was cancelling its football contract with ISU, our fans would be fine with it. ISU fans would petition the legislature to pass a law mandating the game. They have no identity except being the other DI school in Iowa. Joke.
