James Vandenberg: it's Not Your Fault

Our state is a bunch of fatties. I see these 5'2" women who weigh 250+ pounds and wonder where it all went wrong. How do you not have enough self discipline to not eat that fourth twinkie? Put down the 32oz. pop ya fatty and hit the gym. Of course, with the overpopulation problem at least you're helping the rest of us when you stroke out or have a massive cardiac infarction at 42. Damn fatties.

U spend too much time at teh Wal-Mart in Muscatine, and it is warping your perception.

I think I handled that in three sentences Herbert. No one needed (or bothered to read) your 12 paragraph screed that gave my 7th grade composition teacher cancer.

I enjoyed the read. In all sincerity though. James is a native Iowan. I don't know what his future plans are, but I would hate to think he will not be able to walk around the state the next 40 years without someone giving him a hard time. He has not turned out the way we all or I sure he wanted. Doesn't mean he is not trying his *** off. I hope he gets at least the minimum amount of cordial respect once he is done.

In all seriousness...he will be an Iowa hero, all he needs to do is lead his team to victory over michitigan and
nebby...done deal. (indy and our
dreaded rival, purdue, wouldn't hurt either).

the RB position as been a revolving door all fall going back to last spring, it looked like Canseri was to be the starting RB. he got hurt and Hill looked to be the starter, wrong, he gets hurt and is done for the season. Bullock gets switch from slot receiver and did a pretty good job gaining 280 yards in 2 and a half games.
the he gets hurt and Garmon comes in and gets hurt a few plays later with what looked like a season ending injury, then Weisman moves into the RB slot after startying *** the FB after Rodgers got hurt in fall practice.
what I found funny on other sites people were rippinG KF for not starting the best player from day one,, like anyone new anything about this kid as he was a transferr walkon from Navy.. the good news and bad news he ended up with over 600 rushing yards in 4 games, the bad news is he is out with a injury but the goodnews again is that Bullock and Garmon are both healthy and playing again and Bullock did end up with over 100 yards rushing for the game..
the OL has taken its fair share of hits with Blythe going down with a injury Walsh played a couple of series and got hurt letting Donnal get the start the next game. Now Scherff and Donnal are both done for the season because of injuries. this causes a major change to the OL 9 games into the season wth VanSloten at RT, Blythe is back starting at RG, Ferentz is still the starter at Center, Walsh is the new Starter at LG and Tobin moves from LG to starting at LT.
there is good news from all this for next season. we should have a solid group of RB's for next year..
Bullock
Garmon
Canzeri should be back at 100% and appears to be RS
Hill should be at 100% after RS
Dawson will be ready after RS
Malloy is RS
Weisman should be 100%
then you have whoever they get this spring and alot of these players took a shot from the AIRBHG and survived
the OL has some good young Talent getting valuable playing time
RSFR Blythe
RSFR Walsh
RSSO Donnal
RSSO Scherff
all these players were starting for the 1st time in their careers
1st season starters
RSJR Van Sloten RT
JR CJF TE
RSSO KMM WR
then you have the following playing
Hamilton SO TE
Hillyer RSFRR WR
Duzzy RSFR TE
Smith FR WR
Cotten JR Slot receiver and KO returner
Thats a lot of young talent playing this year that the coaching staff is dealimng with on the offensive side of the ball plus you have to realize GD is implementing his system all this since he got here in March, that's quite a bit to deal with in 7 months, this is where the good news comes in. all these players but 2 return next year, the only 2 listed that won't return are Tobin at LT and his replacement will either be Donnal or Scherff, Ferentz will be a difficult p[osition as he is responseble for blocking assignment call on the Line. but with KF and BF working on that I am not going to worry about that..
I will do another post on the out look on the defense later..
sorry about the length but this has a lot of good info looking forward..

For the first day here red hawk knows a ton about the site owner and how bannings work. Just found the site again, herby? That's great. Now make yourself useful and get banned again.

Well done ghosty.

Ghost's post was pretty funny but it was nowhere near as funny as Herby's. That line about Weisman transferring from Navy was priceless. I had tears in my eyes!

Look, I liek to entertain, but I know better than to compete with Herby. If I tried to out do Herb, I would end up driving myself insane like Brian Wilson did trying to compete with John Lennon.

If you gave me 1000 years, I would never come up with a line as perfect as:

And I skipped the whole middle part cuz I had no clue what he was getting at. Plus it's all a run-on. Are we sure this isn't a 2nd grader? Cuz if it is, it is one smart 2nd grader.

I hope everyone learned their lesson not to push Herby to much. Last thing we need is for him to get banned again. This place just isn't the same without good old Dragonhawk.

Agreed. Every good board needs a heel, a sap, a Cliff Clavin.

oh herb, we all missed you. you're just in time for b-ball season. can't wait to see what you come up with then...

he just burned everyone out, saying the same thing over and over again, esp with the GO double double stuff and getting into fights with other posters.

For a guy posting since October 2012, you seem to have a handle on teh bored's history.
