I'm still angry we had a young John Elway on the sidelines last year and didn't play him.
Iowa's backup quarterback is Weigers not Rudock. Is that not enough for you? Is that not enough to continue the beef? I hope Weigers is a good QB, eventually, and I know KF won't play a backup QB unless he absolutely has to but what if CJ gets injured? This is football, you know. Rudock as backup to CJ leaves Iowa in a much better position at QB. You think Rudock left Iowa for the academics? Can we please just make a pact, a gentleman's agreement to stop bashing Rudock unnecessarily? He didn't quit, he didn't bail. KF thought CJB gave us a better shot at winning and purposefully gave Rudock enough notice to make his plans accordingly. He graduated from Iowa and transferred with the blessing of the coaches.
So what do you say? Can we put this beef aside?
If JR left Iowa in a lerch as you say why did KF let him go with no restrictions and only nice things to say about him? And yes CJ handled himself really well for as frustrated as he must have been. If only his Dad would have as well... Granted his Dad was on the radio and asked questions. It's just too bad for his kids sake he didn't just give them a politically correct answer or ignore it all together. Honestly I had no problem with his Dad answering how he did. It just sucks that so many others took what he said the way they did. Making CJ sound like he was putting the coaching staff on the spot hence the bowl game going the way it did and then quick depth chart in January...Rudock is not a Hawkeye. Rudock is for Rudock. And Jake left an Iowa coaching staff in the lerch when he went to Michigan to start. CJ had more class when he sat the bench.
Isn't posting this thread a bannable offense at this point. Stop it already........

That being said all those dominos falling the way they did is what's gotten the program to where it is today. So I don't think most of us fans have much of a gripe about that...
It's pretty obvious that the team and fans were split on who our QB should be. It was better for all involved if he did transfer so the reporters and fans wouldn't keep bringing it up Every Week.

Did CJ transfer to a different team a year ago when he wasn't the starting QB? No he didn't. Even though it's clear now that he should have been the starter he supported Jake and provided his team with some depth at the most important position on the field. What did Jake do as soon as he was told he had been surpassed? He took his ball and he went home. He quit.
I don't have any hard feelings about it because CJ is awesome and this team is way better with him at the helm, but I and I imagine many other fans and even former teammates of Jake's would take offense to it if you claim he didn't quit.
I think if people would stop starting stupid threads about it everyone would stop
You clearly didn't see CJ at that one Thursday practice.I'm still angry we had a young John Elway on the sidelines last year and didn't play him.
