Being in Seattle the past 8 years, here's my story on Heaps - he played in a 4-5 WR offense in which they threw pretty much non-stop all game and ran an offense in which they seldom huddled - think Mike Leach-type spread. Heaps was on something similar to the Todd Marinovich football-training regimen, which his parents took some heat for. Also, Heaps played w/ some of the most talented players in WA state, namely Kasen Williams, a 5* athlete and WR Gino Simone, amongst others. Heaps played for Skyline HS, which is basically a very successful, affluent suburban Seattle school, so recognize he definitely wasn't lacking anything in resources and exposure, and when you've won as they have recently, players will get noticed. I also heard interviews w/ Heaps, and I don't think he'd have fit in at a place like IA - if you've ever watched BYU play and noticed some of their player's behaviors, you understand my point, and IMO Heaps fits in at BYU...and no, that's not a compliment.
