Jacob Park -ISU

It's kinda sad to see this go down on the message boards. Sounds like he wants to blame everyone but himself. He claims that everyone turned on him quickly. Cyclone fans are many things, but disloyal is not one of them. He says he hadn't talked to any of the coaches since about 2 weeks after that game, yet there are many reports of him being with the team the full year, in workouts and off the field, and Campbell said Park had missed two meetings scheduled with him in the past few weeks.

I'm disappointed. Honestly I loved the kid and his swagger. I'll never forget the suit he was wearing before the Texas game. However clearly a case can be made maybe being such a flamboyant dude might not be the best personality for a QB. I absolutely wish him the best going forward and I'm very happy that he's graduating so he has that to fall back on.

The only thing I have a problem with is him trashing the fans. If you look at CF, there was a thread after the OU game where fans STILL wanted Park to start after one of the biggest wins in program history. His twitter mentions after the suspension were 99% positive and supportive. I and most of the other fans were very hopeful he'd be back for next season. Hopefully Kempt gets the 6th year, if not Noland performed well, but I loved that gunslinger mentality.

Don't know the back story. Why might Kempt get a 6th year?

I think its clear that Iowa needs to recruit this kid. He has a strong arm and throws a tight spiral. Our current group of quarterbacks don't have anyone like him. When you add his superior leadership skills and experience in the SEC and Big 12, the pedigree is clear. Jacod Park is the answer to our inconsistency issues on offense. Ferentz needs to get this kid to Iowa City!

Since when did fans influence your wanting to be there. If he was doing the things he needed to be doing off the field and he wasn't playing terrible the fans would have been fine with him. They've supported way worse QBs then him. Letting fans get in your head in a negative way is on you not them. Every fan base will have their haters. You choose to listen to who you listen to. It's one thing to hear it it's another to pay any credence to it.

You should take him to Minnesota with you. Maybe you could get Tracy Claeys back.

That is what thought. Looking like HUGE douche bag right before you laid an egg on national TV isn't exactly the "swagger" I'd want in Iowa City.

Looking like a huge douche is actually one of the things I liked most about him. I thought his whole persona was hilarious.

Considering how he played this year, why had he been riding the bench?

Love Kyle but doesn't have the strongest arm. I assume coaches got enamored with physical tools of people ahead of him. That said, ISU was his third stop. Played for Riley at Oregon State, transferred when he left and got no playing time there. Went to Hutchison junior college in Kansas, didn't start there. I mean I'm guessing he's a gamer and didn't show it in practice because you have to assume a guy unable to play at a JUCO won't be playing at ISU. However he made the most of his opportunity this year and I respect the heck out of him for it.

I disagree with that.

Not because I think weed should be illegal, because I feel the same as you on that count, but because athletes should be held to a higher standard than the rest of the student population. Whether or not it's fair, their actions reflect on the team as a whole. Just look at how many Cyclone fans ripped on Snyder on social media, or ourselves for Brian Peavy's arrest. That stuff gets around very quicky.

Plus, the last time I checked, it's still illegal in Iowa. If you don't want to get in trouble, don't get caught.
The law is immoral but we should still abide by it. Lol.

Park is a joke. There's a reason players like him transfer schools constantly and blame everyone but themselves.

I'm guessing you don't quite understand TK's humor and being facetious. :)
