JaBo is a Balla

Did you watch the game? In fact, Fran and the media outlets complimented JB on the job he did on Morris. I do not deny that Moss was on him part of the time, but mainly it was point guard to point guard.
Just re-watched the press conference. Fran didn't mention anything about how well Bohannon guarded anyone.

Some players are just winners. It's looks like JoBo is going to be a winner just like his brothers were and his dad was. Exhibit A was that soul crushing 27' 3. Winners take and make that shot.

This was exactly why I never doubted his recruitment. In fact, if you go back and look I know I argued multiple times with people that the kid just has that winner mentality to him. Size, quickness, and athleticism are great. Don't get me wrong. However, sometimes a lot can be said about simply knowing how to get your team in the right play, running the offense in order to get good shots, and when it is your turn to take the shot you have the confidence to step up and knock it down. That's Jobo.

Bohannon isn't great at anything right now, but he'a a true freshman and he has played much better than I thought he would to start his collegiate career. Which is great because it's building confidence. I promise you one thing... He's a kid who, had Iowa not offered him, would have went to UNI and haunted the Hawks for not recruiting him for the next 4 years. I am thrilled he's a Hawk instead.

I'm beginning to wonder if we can be pretty good this year. Early in the year, Moss barely played and now he seems like he is easily the 5th best player. Pemsl hardly played in Florida and now he might be our 2nd best player. Now that they are starters, it looks like a whole new team. And that's without Cook and Jones back. I have a feeling at the end of the year, we are going to be in a position where the Omaha loss kept us out of the tournament.

I am absolutely thrilled to have JBo and if you have watched the Bohannens they all got consistently better and better across their playing careers. Much to be excited about.

He's already not afraid of the moment and he has an unbelievable jumper with range. That shot the other night was taken from 23-24 feet with ISU trimming the lead to 7 with about 4-5 minutes to play. He took it with no hesitation and it was money and ball game. He took it even though he was not having a great shooting night but he expected to make it. That's a winner my friends. We are starting to assemble a team with multiple guys that are not afraid.

He's only going to get better and put a lot of stress on the opposing D's when they sag off to double someone else.

When Moss was on the floor, who was he guarding in the ISU game? Yup, that's right - Morris, who is one of the premiere point guards in the NCAA.

I just re watched the 1st half and Jordan was on Morris or Jackson most of the first half. He started on Thomas, but when Moss came out he was on Morris. When Jackson for ISU came in he guarded him. I have yet to re watch the second half, but it Jordan spent most of the 1st half guarding ISU PG.

I guess I could be mistaken. I did not watch the press conference, but I thought I read that Fran had commented about JB and his defense. Maybe got it mixed up with a couple of stories I read in the media. Sorry. Just above in Deanvogs post, I think he pretty much clarified JB's role. Thanks!

Just finished re watching the 2nd half. Jordan wasn't really matched up vs Monte at all in the 2nd half. Interestingly tho, he was matched up against Babb several times. Mostly guarded Long/Jackson/Babb in the 2nd half.

After re watching the game, and paying more attention to the matchups I found it interesting what they did with Bohannon defensively. They started him on Thomas, and Thomas really used his height advantage and shot right over Jordan. They had to get Jordan off of Thomas as he was going to really abuse him with the height and physical build difference. They slide him over to guard Monte a little, and then he did guard Jackson anytime he was in the game.

Then in the second half they started him on Long, he also guarded Babb a few times which was interesting since Babb started off hot in the 2nd half, but didn't go anything when Jordan was on him (which was only a few times that I noticed).

Jordan did guard Jackson for all 12 minutes that he played. Jackson went 0-4 and didn't do anything offensively at all. Jordan did a very good job on him, and played good defense all night after they moved him off of guarding the 6'6 Thomas (that was too big of a mismatch physically for Jordan).

Did he ever make it to state in his career?

You gonna start cherry picking things now in order to bash on a Hawkeye player? Has the positive momentum with the Iowa basketball program after the ISU victory really been that hard for you handle? Just let it go dude. You're really stretching now.

I'm not cherry picking, you said the kid was a winner or something along those lines but I was there when he lost in the sub state his senior year. I asked if he ever even made it to state because I don't think he did. Just like all the people that say all the Bohannon's were good in college but Zach wasn't and Matt was decent. Matt had an up and down career but had a great senior year

Notice how 56 just now picked up on something you posted on Sunday......It is good to see that 56 is feeling well enough to troll again after that devastating loss by ISU last week.

Dude was posting non stop 20 times a day for weeks.......Iowa beats ISU and it is like radio silence from 56 for a week......

You do the math.

I was out of town Saturday-Tuesday so I haven't really looked at anything posted in here. Nothing like coming back to 1200 work emails though
