Izzo Hold Players Accountable

Let's not be doing too much Fran Izzo comparison. Izzos level of coaching is way above anything that Fran can conjure.

Not saying he's in the right or wrong, but it might not end up mattering how much better of a coach he is then Fran .... the allegations being made towards his program certainly indicate he was much better at turning his head the other direction then Fran.

Its a lot easier to recruit guys to Michigan state than Iowa. Izzo doesn't hold his players accountable. He either covers up for them or has them transfer out to teams like Iowa State.

Fact is none of us know yet what happened. It is such a convoluted mess.

Any organization that allows someone court side to be a total fool for money is very capable of being dysfunctional.

None of the MSU basketball stuff has been sorted out.

it certainly doesn't appear that this is just going to blow over - but things always seem to with time it seems.

It was not a jab at all. He said that he knew, and Fran knows, that Iowa has really struggled on defense. He went on to say that he cannot figure out why; maybe, he said, its just commitment on the part of the players, which he struggles with at MSU as well. You left out another interesting comment: "This is the best offensive team we have seen all year." by Izzo. I think this comment was tied tightly to the comment about not understanding why Iowa's defense has been so bad. So, maybe he was getting at this: This is a good bunch of basketball players, good athletes, who have proven that by their offensive game. Why in the world are they not playing defense better?" When he talked about the 5 games in twelve days, it sounds like he was right. Sure did not throw his kids under the bus. I did not hear one word from him that I would conclude that he was not giving Iowa credit.
Our offense can play with anyone IMO. I am hopeful this talented group of sophomores and the 2 freshmen dedicate themselves to improving on defense going into next season. If they do they will be very good and should be very successful.

At least you get it. They have enough offense. They need that defending specialist. People key in on the offense or the lack of PG, WHICH IS NOT THE ISSUE.
