There is a ridiculous double standard in this league. Izzo was an absolute lunatic last night: Screaming at refs; storming the court; grabbing players by the shirt and screaming at them; etc. etc.

This is the same Izzo who was critical of Fran throwing a chair a few years ago. He is a complete hypocrite and really nothing more than a thug in many ways.

Same thing in football. The only difference is in football it's harder to see all the nasty stuff whereas in basketball it's in your face and really is getting very hard to watch this $$$$ all the time.

I agree with what you say but my point is right after Fran gets double Teed up Izzo can charge out on the court and yell at officials without a Tech. That is ********.

There is a coaches box and going out on the floor should be an auto Tech which somehow doesnt matter for izzo.

Been traveling so I missed the game. Just home and watched the game. Holy Crap was that 2nd T a BS call. Wow. The 2nd ref basically came at Fran, not the other way around. It was like a panic call.

Now I respect Fran for sticking up for his team and going to battle for them and like I've said before have no issues with the first T. But at some point your not sticking up for the team, your hurting them by lowering their chances of winning a basketball game because coach can't keep his cool.

Fran... Go do your thing and be you, but just stay in control. Your our coach of the future and I support you and this Hawkeye team.

Fair enough. The first T sent the message, the 2nd T happened .5 seconds later. Bang bang play I guess.

I cannot disagree, it is not fair but Izzo is not under the same rules Fran is. The officials obviously have a LOT of respect for Izzo. It sucks but that is the way it is. Izzo is one of those that gets home town calls no matter where he is playing and it is a huge advantage for MSU.

Wow if you think half of what you wrote is true you are clueless as they come...the BIG wants them to play favorites to certain teams and they don't even in trouble when they do they get paid more.

No, but in order for Iowa to beat them they will have to beat the team along with the home cooking calls you know that Izzo is going to get.

Interesting. So you are questioning every big ten officials integrity of calling a fair game including Eddie Hightower who Fran spoke highly of recently when Eddie made his last trip to Carver.

And if you truly believe that this favoritism happens you better acknowledge that we will unfairly get calls against Nebraska, Northwestern, peen state and the other bottom teams because it will help keep more big ten teams in the top 25 and help the reputation of the strength of the conference.

Am I to believe we get the benefit in those games using your theories??

Until you guys can put up some hard evidence of this so called favoritism.... I'll keep "my head in the sand."

So did you see IZZO and his actions from start to finish, which is the reason for this thread? If you did, then your head is in the sand. If you didn't I would encourage you to watch it and try to comprehend why no T was called on Izzo? The threads I have seen have all stated that Izzo, Matta, and Ryan seem to get special treatment from the officials because they work them hard with no punitive actions...

Speaking of Fran saying good things about Hightower... I've heard lots of coach's say glowing things about the other teams they are playing or other schools, when you no they really don't care for them and are being polite. Yes, I believe your head is in the sand.
