Ok, I'll admit it, I ranted for 3 days. I'm done. A lot of my criticism wasn't necessarily informed or constructive. But hey, its the internet. So now its on to a 14-3 blowout win over Illinois.

whats on your mind? still smoldering?

We are all just frustrated giving games away when it seems easy to us small changes adapted by our coaching staff could be the diff between 9-3,8-4 to 7-5 or 6-6!

I expected Iowa to get beat last Saturday so I wasn't too upset with the result. But it does suck watching Wisconsin walk away with the West so early. That I am pissed about even though I expected that as well

You mean you aren't cheering for Wisconsin this weekend with @Fryowa so it can help prop up the perception of the B1G West rather than give Iowa a chance to get back in the race?

Unless the scenario involves helping Iowa directly, I feel pretty confident saying that I'll never root for Wisconsin

I would cheer for them if Nebraska had a 2 game lead on us. It's not that difficult of a concept, but one that guys not so bright can't see I suppose. I cheer exclusively for Iowa to benefit.

This could be a title of a thread " I would NOT cheer for Wisconsin if...."

Green Eggs and ham come to mind.

As I longtime Madison resident, I salute you. Same here. Wisconsin is the team Iowa fans should want to lose more than any other, for a lot of good reasons.

I hate Nebraska almost as much as I love Iowa. That's how much. I work every day in Omaha and live in Iowa. I've hated Nebraska since I was old enough to understand and watch football. This weekend.. GBR dude. GOOO BIIG RED! All day all night.

I have family in Madison and elsewhere in Wisconsin and pretty state and all but it just has never grown on me. Madison specifically comes off to me as too politically correct and not overly friendly especially for a guy who ended up in the south. I look forward to beating Wisconsin more than any team on the schedule in both football and basketball.

Nope, I'm good. Not happy with how the offense looked @MSU but have generally been saying that for years, so nothing new, really.

I don't invest a lot of emotional energy in Iowa sports anymore. If they're having a big year like two years ago (12-0, B10 title game) then sure, I definitely get pretty wrapped up in it, but have learned to let down/average years roll off me and just enjoy the wins, shrug my shoulders over losses. It seems like a healthier attitude and works better for me than going nuclear over every loss in a 7-5 season like I used to. It's not what I'd call apathy, just a more grounded attitude.

Doesn't mean I'm happy with mediocrity - I just try to relax about the outcome of every game.

Pisses my wife off less too, lol.

Absolutely - like the fans have any control over it any ways. I will maybe actually get upset about things if it becomes dismal... or we start having losing seasons, or it's just pathetic. This program won 20 games the last 2 seasons. Not a lot to be too up in arms over IMO

For some reasons (economy, educated population, active population, outdoor activities, and events) I love Madison. It's better than most any place I've seen. However, I tend to agree that it's not really all that friendly for a midwestern town. A lot of people are born and raised here and never left. It may be a fantastic place but some of the residents are rather smug.

I wear my hawkeye hat everywhere. :)
