It's official.....

this coaching staff is officially incapable of playing a season with high expectations.

I lived through 1997 and felt there was no way I'd have that feeling again. How wrong I was!!

I think after 27 years of following the Hawks, I've resigned myself to the fact that I probably will never see a National Championship in my lifetime (or possibly a Rose Bowl win, for that matter).

What a terrible, terrible season.

And to those that continue to proclaim this defense as GREAT.....what do you say now??? I don't know that you can even call them "good".

I agree. Coaching and having the players prepared to play seem to be a big problem. Plus playing with a average QB isn't conducive to a National Championship.

I said it at the start of the year that hype worries more b/c it does seem to happen every time we have any sort of Pre season buzz. 2005 being the most glaring example but this year is beginning to rival that.

Now watch, next year when everyone will have us 5th or 6th in the B10 going into the year, we'll pull a 10-2 season out of our a$$.

Sad but true. We have one of the better talented teams in the last ten years and we can't do shut with it. What a crock. I hope Kirk is happy with an 8-4 trip to the insight bowl.

If we can pull off two wins, and finish 9-3, we could still technically end up in the Capital One. Outback wouldn't be a impossibility.

I am all for staff stability......but I'm at the point now that I'm willing to consider changes. We need someone who won't be afraid to tell Ferentz "NO". We need someone who is willing to change up our approach depending on who we're playing. The approach necessary for Wisconsin is NOT the approach we should be taking with an Indiana or Northwestern. But year after year, we do.

want to argue against you, but hard to. Just better being the underdog. Two weeks ago, fans ranting because we run and go 3 & out all 2nd half w/ 30 pt lead v. Mich St. Today, up 10, ball at NW38, 11:24 left - still can't believe we threw the ball. Lots of places to point fingers today

I would like to see us beat OSU, that would help a lot to salvaging this season. But no one will ever convince me that we are a better team than our record, I've watched us play and we are lucky to be where we are...

We aren't better than our record. KF is famous for saying, "You are what your record says you are." I believe in that philosophy and right now, we are a middling 7-3.

This staff has normally done a good job in correcting errors it's made from previous years: bowl preparation, playing true freshman, etc. The one nut that haven't seemed to be able to crack is playing with expectations. Hopefully once this season has played out, there is some serious soul-searching and some serious internal evaluations done and some serious changes made.
