It's official now

Naw Eppy is as sure a done deal as there is. He's a Hawk. The thing his old man can and I'm sure already has is relay to him that when he first got to Iowa that the program wasn't in very good shape then either. And he was a part of building it back up and how rewarding that that may have been. I'm not saying that's a great or even good thing when just a year ago they were where they were but it could possibly be an angle to where he doesn't see the glass half empty way of looking at things....

I'm not buying the done deal thing. I could be wrong but unless Iowa does something miraculous I think he'll get much more attractive offers elsewhere from much more stable programs. It'd be naive to think that other coaches aren't going to jump all over this year's shit show of a season. We would do the same thing to other schools' recruits.

I think when it comes time to sign his name logic and reason are going to win out and I hope he makes the best choice for his future, not what his father (who is wooed by KF and staff) wants. Dad is getting his second 15 minutes of fame so of course he's going to have Hawkeye-colored glasses on. For those of you who have bought into AJ's Twitter feed just remember that Benjamin and and Calloway were both "all about the Hawks" too until the shit hit the fan and reality set in.

As far as being able to play earlier here...hmmmmm...

Develop for a year under Saban/Harbaugh/Meyer's coaching staff, or let Phil Parker send you on an unwinnable kamikaze mission as a freshman? I think I know which one I'd opt for. Epenesa would face the same problem Desmond has this year. He's the only legit threat on a bush league defense so he's getting shut down because teams can afford to. Most of the best players in the NFL weren't four year starters. The argument that playing earlier is by itself somehow going to improve his chances going pro is crazy.

Eda gets kicked in the nuts....I didn't even notice the post until I relied. That sure didn't take long....someone ALWAYS says it.

What do we have here? Some Internet tough guy taking this opportunity to get all butt hurt because some dude we knew was decomitting decommitted?

First guy to say"That's OK ...we don't want someone who doesn't want to be Hawk" or "Next man up"....needs to be kicked square in the nuts!!! They WOULD want to be Hawks if Ferments knew how to sell the program, and would adopt a style of ball that isn't straight out of the 1930's era.[/QUOTE]

No they wouldn't...in fact Eno wanted to be a Hawk but he lost that privilege.

I guess I don't understand why some fans think it's okay for top talent to leave. It's not a good thing. Its not okay. Especially in a Phil Parker Defense. He is an average at best DC. He can't develop 2 and 3 Star talent like Norm Parker could. It's obvious. His best Defense nationally hasn't cracked the overall top 50 since he's arrived. So when studs like Calloway leave for ridiculous reasons. It's not ok. The next 2 star or walk most likely won't fill his place. Not every story is like Tyler Sash or Chad Greenway. This program is in serious trouble. There is a major talent disparity between Iowa and the upper B1G Ten teams like Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan St, Ohio State and Nebby.

Kurt now can go to the Solon-Mt Vernon metro plex recruiting hotbed area and get that 1 star guy now.....Yes

The sheer lack of facts in here is astonishing. Neither Calloway or Eno truly decommited. They both had their offers pulled. Eno straight up lied to the coaches TWICE about taking other visits. Chevin has a heavy family influence on him not to attend Iowa and go to Arkansas or Texas. His BS story about not talking with KF or any of his coaches after committing was debunked quickly. He was the very first recruit called by KF once the no contact period ended. His lies and taking other visits is what cause his offer to get pulled. You guys should gather facts before coming to a board to complain about how bad the staff has done selling recuits on our program. If you don't, it just makes you look dumb.

6 of one, half dozen of the other. It's a matter of semantics at this point because they would both still be committed to Iowa had this 2016 team not completely shit the bed. Neither one of them would have done what they did to get their offers pulled if we were 10-2 or 9-3 at the end of this season like what was expected. Think what you want, but those kids are thumbing their noses at the coaches because this staff is inept and they can see the writing on the wall. It's going to be the same thing with Epenesa; he's just taking longer because his dad is in his ear. Just remember you heard it here first.

Sorry if that makes me look dumb and you're astounded by my lack of facts. I astound myself with my stupidity sometimes.

It was reported well before either officially decommited so there was no reason for damage control at that point. Any person on here who is a member or rivals can go look up all the posts on this. The coaches were given a heads up by the Missouri staff that Eno visited there officially. The Iowa staff then confronted him and he denied everything. The coaches just accepted it and although the trust was broken, they appeared ready to move on from it and still accept his commitment. Then Eno did it again. This time at ASU. Again he denied it until the coaches told him they had proof. By that time, the coaches felt the relationship wasn't worth pursuing anymore due to Eno's lies. Calloway was never going to end up here. The influence from his family is just to much for any staff to overcome. He will end up at Arkansas or Texas.

So you're calling Eno a liar. That's so cool of you

Yup. AJ definitely seems like he is going to decommit.

Naybe you should follow the decommits to their next school. You woulb be much happier AND you wouldn't have to be a cyfan troll.

Yeah. Just like Eno Benjamin's Hawkeye excitement that used to be plastered all over his profile. If you think his twitter feed is dead proof he's going to be here next year there's nothing I can do for you. If the Hawks barf up the rest of the season he's gone and I won't blame him one bit.. That's just my astoundingly dumb opinion though.

I've read your game day thread posts. I'm surprised you haven't run out on I-80 yet because you're so inconsolably pissed off. You'd probably be happier "following the decommits" too. Should we go together?

Well tell me, what new offers do you think that are going to be more attractive? Pretty sure he had offers from basically all the blue bloods before he committed. I would love to know who your source is though. At least I give you a place to go to check what I have been saying. You just ramble on but have no true source of info. I'll make sure I come back on NSD to have a good laugh at your posts.

Said it a million times, I have no source and it's just what I think will happen if Iowa flops the rest of the season. Not super sure if you remember but he committed when the Hawkeyes were coming off an undefeated year and were bringing back most of their starters. Alabama sure is a whole lot more attractive now and I'm fairly certain they'd still take him. I hope the Hawks come out and run the next three but I doubt it'll happen. Look man, you can get all upset about my opinions if you want and tell me how shitty I am, but I promise I don't take a bunch of yahoos on an internet board seriously; you shouldn't either. We are (unless you've forgotten) middle aged grown men bantering back and forth about teenage kids playing a game. I'll be right there laughing with you if he signs.

By the way, can I get a like from you on this post? Helps my self esteem.

Once a d-bag always a d-bag. Let me know when you have a positive thought. You'll recognize it. It'll be your first ever. You can always spot a clown troll, everything is negative.
