I respectfully disagree. This sinking ship has a long, long way to go before it hits rock bottom and gathers rust, detritus and underwater bottom feeders. The rest of the season is going to be painful to watch.

When Herky gets busted at Lakeside for giving head for a hit of crack we've hit rock bottom.

Wouldn't say we've hit rock bottom, but we can touch! Purdue has a decent D line which is going to cause problems. And then there is the defense's of Michigan and Nebraska. Rock bottom is going to be no bowl game and ending up 4/8.

I agree.
Iowa has played, arguably their weakest schedule, EVER, this year. We had a 5th year starting qb with a boat load of experience. Youth and inexperience are no excuse with this team, either. Every team has youth and every team has injuries. We just got our ***** handed to us by a back up qb at Indiana. Penn State has an entire new coaching staff and yet we still have posters on these boards saying we need to give the new coordinators time. Time for what? My God, they have been practicing since the first week in August. And don't try to tell me that our skill people were not working out ,all summer, with each other as far as pass routes, etc.
Indiana had better skill people than Iowa. They played more physical than Iowa. Their offensive scheme is light years better than the offense run by Iowa.
The buck stops with Ferentz.
All of the other teams in our division will have at least one quarterback returning next year with meaningful BIG experience. Iowa will be starting over with a QB that has never taken a snap in d-1 football. Iowa will be a prohibitive pick to finish last in our division next season. That is unacceptable.

I agree with this. Screw the huddle..Just get everyone on the line of scrimmage and get the call in fom the sideline.
That's an advantage when they will let everyone get up and look to the sideline for the play.
That way we would know for sure who was at fault for the delays.

I wonder if Bob Cummings was compensated like Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, John Robinson, etc.?
I know the salary thing has been brought up, (probably too often) but you just can't ignore the fact that we are paying a coach an elite salary and getting mediocre results.

On the contrary, we love Iowa football and want to see if flourish. That's why we're unwilling to accept the pathetic job our HC is doing.

The Ferentz mistakes, patterns and stubbornness are so predictable, that 65 yr-old ladies in sports bars are calling it (saw it with my own eyes) Our opponents get a "freebie" the week before Iowa. No preparation needed.
You want "rock bottom". Wait for Senior day. A Senior QB will get booed (sadly) by many when introduced, the stadium will be 1/3 red and we'll get the ***-kicking of a lifetime on our home field.
Ferentz has become the new Lickliter. It's time for a change.

Only drunken retards would boo our senior qb. I have no doubt he is giving it his all. He has had a rough year, no doubt, but if anyone should be booed, it is Ferentz.

All I'm saying is I've been an ardent Ferentz supporter through many inexcusable losses and several off the field incidents. I've always been "that guy" who will stick up for him no matter what someone is saying. I'm at the point now where I can't honestly say that I feel like the Hawk program is heading in the right direction anymore. Ferentz is the head honcho. You're either getting better as a team and program or you're getting worse. What we've seen this year certainly leads me to believe we aren't getting any better.

I agree wholeheartedly. I really hope it doesn't happen. All of these kids work their butts off just to be on the team, and JVB has been an exemplary student and teammate. I've met both James and his Dad, couldn't be nicer people...not a touch of ego.
