as some people dont realize all the big 10 games count. Like in any sport you just cant get a loss back out of the loss column. With a win at Maryland the hawks could afford to maybe go 1-1 over the next two games depending on how the round robin played out.

Maryland did hang pretty well with MSU for about 50 minutes at 16-7 but Maryland's offense didnt really have much of a pulse. I just thought the Terps defense looked strong last week but an MSU pick 6 opened the flood gates.

So it is too bad that with that 14-0 lead the hawks didnt have some answers for the Maryland defense to keep scoring and moving the ball and keep the hawk defense off the field.

When the hawk offense bogs down is when this team has trouble.

I am sure Minny players are wishing they didnt lay that egg at Illinois as they would have an extra game in hand.

So the next two games hinge in my opinion again with the offense being consistent, moving the ball, and getting scores. Wisky and Nebby will score even though I am hoping to see one of those great defensive efforts the hawks are known for.
 
Oh yes and the Wisky players wish they had that 4 turnover loss at jNW back in the win column as they could lose one game and still win outright
 
All Big 10 games count? Not just the Leaders and Legends? Were we a Leader, or Legend? I get so confused about all of this. I think we can still make the playoff though.
 
Its a gm we should have won. No doubt. It would have definitely gave us more cushion going into our next 2.
 
Maryland did not have Diggs vs MSU....he killed Iowa. It happens....timing is everything in life. Just like when Mel Gordon was dinged vs LSU and only had a handful of carries in the second half as LSU rallied....imagine if Gordon was in full form like now?
 
It's not like Iowa gave that away, they werent even close to deserving to win that day. Similar to Minnesota. Iowa was completely outplayed in both.
 
Hawks didn't have the O-Line sorted out yet. The 2 young guards got worked.

Meh, if you can't go at least 2-1 against Minny, Wisc and Neb, then you probably do not deserve to win the division anyway.

It would be nice to be undefeated too, but by now, you are what your record says you are. Iowa is 7-3 and 4-2. To suggest Iowa is better than that is a stretch.

I am sure Minn and Neb wish they could not count their games against OSU and MSU, but they all count for them too.

The Hawks did have an answer for Maryland. It was the run game. However, we kept shooting ourselves in the foot (turnovers/penalties/etc). Unfortunately we went away from the run game a tad too early, and then fell behind big and had to start throwing the ball to play catch up.

But to the original point... Yes, I wish we could have that game back. I also wish we could go back and destroy the cyclown team. I also wouldn't mind another crack at the goofs. But that's all the games I'd want the team to go back and play again.
 
We lost the Maryland game, the same way that Wisconsin lost the LSU game.
We stopped running the ball.
